🌈 What does working at Illawarra AMS mean to you?
Working at the AMS is a real privilege. In my role as a GP, it means that I get the chance to sit down with some of the most in-need people in our community, be trusted with their story, and see what we can do to help. It’s really tough at times, but not many jobs give you an opportunity to try and help others as often as this job.
🤝 What advice would you give Mob about looking after their health?
The advice I would give is just to start now – don’t put it off! Start eating well today, go for that walk this arvo, take your medication, see the GP, quit smoking. Whatever it is, just get started on looking after yourself so that you can be around for your family and friends.
❤️ Who or what inspires you in your career?
The thing that inspires me and keeps me going at work, is the firm belief that everyone, absolutely everyone, is deserving of love and care. It might be really difficult to show love and care sometimes, and it might not always look like what patients want it to look like, but everyone is deserving of it. That keeps me turning up.
