Today is World Kidney Day - a reminder of just how important kidney health is to your overall wellbeing.

Your kidneys work quietly in the background every day, helping to regulate fluids, filter waste, and support your heart and blood pressure.

Many kidney conditions develop with few early symptoms, which is why regular health checks and healthy habits matter.

If you have risk factors or concerns, consider speaking with your GP at your next visit.

Men’s health check-ins are an important part of preventative care.

Many health conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, and some cancers, can develop with few or no early symptoms. Regular health checks help identify potential concerns early, when treatment and lifestyle changes are often most effective.

Preventative health checks for men may include blood pressure and cholesterol monitoring, diabetes screening, prostate health discussions, mental health check-ins, and lifestyle assessments.

If it’s been a while since your last check, or you’re not sure what screenings are right for you, your GP can help guide you based on your age, family history, and overall health.

Hormonal health plays a role in many aspects of women’s wellbeing, not just menstrual cycles.

Changes in energy, mood, sleep, weight, or skin can sometimes be linked to hormonal changes at different life stages, including adolescence, reproductive years, perimenopause, and menopause.

If something doesn’t feel quite right, you don’t have to push through it. A conversation with your GP can help explore what’s happening and what support may be available.
