We couldn't be further into soup season, and we’re here for it. 🍜

There’s something extra comforting about cracking open a pre-prepped soup for a quick, no-fuss lunch or dinner.

🛑 But not all supermarket soups are created equal, and a few small checks can turn a not very satisfying soup into something much more nourishing.

Here’s what we look for when picking a good one off the shelf...

🥚 Protein

Ideally over 10-15g per serve to help keep you full and satisfied. If it’s a little low, try adding some shredded chicken, or even a slice of toast with cottage cheese on the side.

🥕 Fibre

Look for soups with some kind of fibre-rich ingredient (hello legumes, veggies, wholegrains). Fibre is key for fullness, digestion support, and blood sugar balance for sustained energy throughout the day.

đź§‚ Salt

Aim for less than 400mg sodium per 100g as a general rule. If you’re managing high blood pressure or heart concerns, go even lower (
