Happy International Yoga Day!
Today is celebrated to bring awareness of the health benefits from practicing Yoga!
This years theme is "Yoga for One Earth, One Health". This is capturing the relationship between individual health and health of our planet.This is for us to reflect upon how our inner health and sustainability can impact the health and sustainability of the planet.
Yoga is a practice that has been part of my life for 30 years and 27 of that teaching others the gifts of Yoga and what it can bring to our health and well-being.
For me the breath techniques of Yoga ( pranayama) have helped me through many experiences in my life. Managing chronic pain after a car accident, seeing me through 3 childbirth experiences and healing and bringing relaxation at those times that challenge you, the loss of a loved one or through health concerns.
Physically yoga has made me feel strong, flexible and confident in my body.
Mentally it's brought strength and relaxation to my mind and helped me learn about finding that stillness and quiet again.
I can't imagine a life without yoga!
