Those newborn days are so long & tough yet so fleeting. It truly is a case of blink and you’ll miss it.

Precious newborn cries
Milky sweet baby breath
Flaky, peeling just arrived skin
That adorable newborn scrunch
And my favourite, that little turtle neck stretch 🥹😭

I love capturing your precious newborns 🤍

Postpartum is not something to just “wing” 🪽

We plan for birth but what about the weeks after?

I am a massive believer that your birth can have a profound impact on your postpartum & motherhood journey but why not plan to make it the best season of your life yet.

Some things to consider as you plan for your postpartum is who’s going to feed you, support you, encourage you to rest and recover.
Who’s going to be that sounding board you need and that comforting hug?
Whose going to do school pickup for your other children and tidy up so your lounge room and mind are clearer and calmer?

Postpartum planning isn’t about being organised for the sake of it. It’s about being held when you need it most.

Because when a mother is supported & thriving, the family can also thrive.

We have some big things coming over the next few months including updating our birth & postpartum packages to care better for you and your family.

If you’re expecting and want to feel truly supported in your postpartum, we would love to walk alongside you.

Tiny toes, so soft, so sweet,
Rosy dreams in baby feet.
Curled up close, so safe, so small,
Not yet ready to wander at all.

Oh the places you’ll one day go.
Where wildflowers and wonders grow.
But for now, just softly be,
Right here, wrapped in love with me. 💗👣

In honour of World Doula Week the annual was held over the weekend in Sydney.

I didn’t take nearly enough photos because I was so immersed in the community and learnings that were on offer!

I surprised my Doula Mentor & Bestie from
It was so amazing to finally be able to meet you in person Brony! I am so grateful for your endless support and friendship throughout my journey 💗

We heard from so many incredible speakers including the legend Dr Andrew Bisits. It was such a privilege to be able to see Andrew speak with such passion. He is truly a leader in the birth scene in Australia.

It was so wonderful to be able to catch up with Kylie from again after meeting in 2024 at the Homebirth Conference - Sunshine Coast.
Kylie and I have some exciting things in the works for my Dubbo & local Dads so stay tuned for that!

The role of a Doula is wonderful, meaningful work but it can also be really heavy and lonely.
This weekend was exactly what I needed to refill my cup so I can continue serving the women in my community.
I will never not be grateful for the opportunity I have to do this work.

I’m already looking forward to the 2027!

Touch ✨

The value of touch and simple presence in labour is often underestimated.

A hand to hold.
A thumb gently stroking your skin.
A quiet “I’m here with you”.

It might not look like much but in the middle of a contraction, it can be everything.

Touch helps you come back to your breath.
Back to your body.
Back to the knowing that you’re not doing this alone.

Sometimes the most powerful support isn’t big or loud. It’s steady & familiar.

One of my favourite parts of supporting families through birth is gently guiding partners to step into their role with confidence. Helping them become the calm, grounded, fully present support their person needs. There’s something so special about watching couples come out of birth feeling even more connected than when they went in 🤍

What your doula wished you knew...

I’d tell you it’s beautiful.

I’d tell you it’s sacred.
I’d tell you it’s empowering.
I’d tell you it’s candlelight and whispered affirmations and women discovering their strength.

And all of that is true.

But here’s the part I we don't say enough:

Your doula cares about your birth more than you know.

She cares about how you are spoken to.
She cares about who touches you and when.
She cares about the tone in the room.
She cares about the pause before a decision.
She cares about your partner not feeling lost.
She cares about your “no” being heard the first time.
She cares about your dignity.

She is watching everything.

She notices when your shoulders tense before you say you’re scared.
She notices when the room gets loud.
She notices when you need water, or quiet, or reassurance, or space.

Because birth is not just about how your baby arrives.
It’s about how you arrive.

You deserve to look back and remember strength.
You deserve to remember being respected.
You deserve to remember feeling supported, not managed.

A doula is not there to control your birth.
She is there to protect your experience.

And long after the lights are turned off and the room is quiet,
she will still be thinking about you.

Wondering if you’re resting.
Hoping you feel proud.
Hoping you feel seen.

That’s the part we don’t put in the brochure.

We don’t just show up for your contractions.
We show up for you.

Packing your hospital bag can be daunting 😬🧳

So I’ve done my best to help take the guess work out of it by creating a ‘What to pack guide’.

It can be helpful to pack your things into smaller bags inside your suitcase so you or your partner aren’t rummaging through things in a time sensitive situation.

💛 A bag for Labour & Birth
💛 A bag for Mum
💛 A bag for baby
💛 A bag for Dad

Don’t forget to label each bag. The less thinking you have to do during labour the better. The last thing you want to be asked during contractions is where the phone charger is. Questions like that pull you out of your labour brain and into your thinking brain which isn’t where you want to be during labour.

📌Save this post for later or share it with a friend who’s preparing to meet their baby.

And if I’ve forgotten anything drop a comment and let me know!

Happy packing 🧳

What better way to celebrate Valentine’s Day than by honouring it with a beautiful Placenta print 💗

Creating a placenta print is such a special way to honour the incredible work it does in growing and nourishing your baby. This temporary organ is literally your baby’s first home and lifeline.

✨ Did you know?
• The placenta is the only organ humans grow and discard.
• Every placenta is completely unique - just like a fingerprint.

And something many families don’t realise - you can choose to take your placenta home after birth. You just need to let your care provider know your wishes ahead of time and they can guide you through the process.

You can choose to keep it, plant it under a tree, encapsulate it, or turn it into art.
A placenta print is a beautiful, meaningful keepsake of your pregnancy and birth journey 💗
