Meet Dr Nick Erskine, the new Clinical Director of Emergency Medicine at Wonthaggi Hospital.
He comes to us from The Alfred Care Group of Bayside Health, where he continues to work one day a week, bringing experience from Melbourne’s top Emergency Departments to our community.
Dr Erskine oversees a team of qualified and skilled medical staff, who work with our amazing nursing team to care for you and your family and friends during emergencies.
“I’d love to see the Emergency Department train even more doctors of the future, but it will take a lot of work to reach that point,” he said.
Having grown up in rural New Zealand, Dr Erskine was enthusiastic to return to a rural setting and took advantage of the opportunity afforded, in part, by the formation of Bayside Health.
“I enjoy living here, having a bit of space and being able to reach out and not touch my neighbour’s window,” he said.
