Care pathways that wrap around families ❤️
Connected care matters when families need it most.
And this rings especially true for one of our own.
In December, our Leongatha Memorial Hospital Comms team member, Marlo, began maternity leave earlier than planned, due to a high-risk pregnancy.
On 2 January, Marlo welcomed her daughter, Bailee Rae, who arrived at 33 weeks via an emergency C-section.
The blurry early days can feel overwhelming for any family. And being close to home can make a real difference.
Bailee was transferred to the new Peninsula University Hospital, allowing Marlo and her family to commute between home and hospital more easily while Bailee continues to receive the specialised care she needs.
For Marlo, this second pregnancy journey wasn’t just about systems working as designed.
It was about feeling supported as both a parent and a colleague.
For our wider Bayside Health family, Marlo’s story is a reminder that the pathways we build are deeply human.
They are there for our communities.
They are also there for our people.
Across Bayside Health, teams work together every day to ensure care is coordinated, compassionate, and centred on families.
This moment reflects that shared commitment in action.
We are holding Marlo and her family of four in our thoughts as little Bailee continues her care journey with Bayside Health.
