A confirmed case of Measles attended Lismore Emergency Department. Saturday, 21 February 2026, approximately 5:45pm – 11:20pm

Measles symptoms include: Fever, sore red eyes, runny nose and a cough, a red, blotchy rash appearing 3–4 days after symptoms begin.
Measls is highly contagious!
🕒 Symptoms can appear up to 18 days after exposure.

If you develop symptoms:
👉 Call ahead before visiting your GP or ED to avoid potential spread.
Some people may need urgent advice, including:
• Pregnant people
• Those with weakened immune systems
• Call your local public health unit: 1300 066 055.

🫟Vaccination remains the best protection.
Anyone born after 1965 should have had two doses of measles vaccine.
MMR vaccines are free in NSW for eligible people and available at GPs and pharmacies (5+ years).

Do you know that Woodburn Health provides access to numerous allied health services?

These services are provided by independent contractors and are available to our community, regardless of whether you are a patient of Woodburn Health.

🏃 PhysioPlus offers exercise physiology, occupational therapy, and physiotherapy services Monday through Friday. Please call PhysioPlus at 66218606 to schedule an appointment.
🩸 Sullivan Nicholaides Pathology is available Monday through Friday from 8am to 4pm and offers a walk-in service.
👂Nick Robson from Northern Rivers Audiology is available on Mondays and can be contacted at 0461322765.
🧑‍💼Karen Chapman provides psychology services on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and a referral from your GP is required to access her services.
👄Karen Kostal offers speech pathology services on Thursdays, and a referral from your GP is also required to access her services.
🍎A dietician service is coming soon.

Join us in welcoming Dr Pepe Mifsud to Woodburn Health.

Dr Pepe will be working every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from Monday 2nd February. Dr Pepe completed his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Wollongong and is an RACGP Registrar who has worked locally across the Northern Rivers in both hospital and general practice settings.

Dr Pepe has particular interests in mental health, chronic disease management, preventative health, and men’s health. Outside the clinic, Pepe enjoys surfing, running, and attempting to cook delicious meals for his partner. 🙂

Late clinics at Woodburn Health

We are trialling a late clinic on Tuesday evenings, offering appointments outside standard working hours.
This service is designed to support people who work during the day or find it difficult to attend appointments during normal clinic times. We hope this trial will make accessing care more convenient and flexible for our community.

Please note that late clinic appointments will not be available to book via HotDoc. Patients wishing to attend will need to phone the clinic directly to make an appointment.
