💉Are you 65 or older? You are eligible for a free Shingles vaccine under the National Immunisation Program (NIP)!

Vaccination is the best protection against shingles. Shingles is a viral infection that causes a painful, blistering rash. It is caused by the varicella zoster virus, which is the same virus that causes chickenpox. They can take several weeks to settle. In 1 in 10 people, the pain and tingling of shingles can last for months or even years.

When was the last time you checked your breasts?

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in Australia and the second most common cancer to cause death in women. Breast cancer is the abnormal growth of the cells lining the breast lobules or ducts. These cells grow uncontrollably and have the potential to spread to other parts of the body. Both men and women can develop breast cancer, although it is uncommon in men. Transgender women & non-binary people can also get breast cancer.

A self examination can be the first step to noticing breast cancer. If you suspect something may be wrong, your GP can help by ordering diagnostic imaging and referrals to specialists. Early detection is key to survival.

Its time to start checking your breasts!

15/04/2026

Woodcroft Medical Centre is happy to announce that Dr Kwan Chia, our accredited ADHD GP Diagnostician, now accepts referrals for diagnostic assessment for new and existing patients.

From March 2026 onward, accredited South Australian GPs can independently diagnose and manage attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) for patients 8 years old or above.

The assessment and treatment of ADHD can involve controlled medications and requires careful monitoring. This information outlines expectations for safe, effective and collaborative care. It incorporates the outpatient assessment process and standard responsibilities for controlled medication use consistent with current best practice. It is important to note that undergoing assessment does not guarantee a diagnosis nor guarantee stimulant prescription. A diagnosis and medication recommendation requires meeting full diagnostic criteria and completing all investigations.

Please note: ALL assessments are privately billed with Medicare rebates available. NO Bulk Billing or concession discounts will apply for these appointments. A $200 deposit is required for each booking.

All information regarding ADHD assessments and costs can be found on our website via the link below.
https://woodcroftmedicalcentre.com.au/.../adhd.../

If you are interested in booking in for an ADHD assessment, please call reception on 8322 2099.

A free, safe and effective immunisation to protect babies against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) infection is now available.

Your child is eligible for a free RSV immunisation if aged:
• under 2 years with a medical condition, or
• under 8 months (if you’re a mum who didn’t receive the RSV vaccine during pregnancy).

The RSV infant immunisation is not a vaccine, but provides ready-made antibodies for early protection against serious RSV infections.

Many babies who get respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) will need medical attention. Their small airways become swollen and babies can struggle to breathe and feed. Some babies will need to go to hospital.

Anyone can get RSV and pass it on without knowing, and immunisation remains the best way to protect your baby against this serious disease.

Protect your baby against RSV this autumn and winter. Make an appointment with your doctor or usual immunisation provider.
