Our first buffet breakfast was a significant success, with excellent attendance and outstanding food options. The tables were set,and a resident's speech thanking the kitchen and staff for their hard work brought the room together all clappiing . It's in these moments that we feel most proud to work here. The buffet will be held every 5 weeks, offering regular opportunities for socialization and dining excellence.

For the past year Woodford Manor has been participating in the Maggie Beer Foundation Trainer Mentor Program. We have learnt so much from this program from identifying areas to improve and build layers of flavour, finding ways to increase protein in each portion provided and plating techniques to visually entice the residents.
We have had access to delicious recipes already geared towards aged care needs, guidance from our Amazing Mentor - Emma Lillie, who has become a life long friend of the kitchen team and we have been able to create events to spoil our residents and showcase our skills developed over the year.

This year, we are embarking on a monthly excursion to a new global destination, featuring local cuisine for our morning tea. Despite the upcoming Australia Day celebrations, our resident Kevin has expressed a desire to visit Paris and indulge in French delicacies. We extend our gratitude to the kitchen for providing exquisite danishes. Each month, a different resident is chosen to select the destination, with Terry being the next choice, opting for a trip to America, renowned for its diverse culinary offerings.

We had a fantastic game day today, with laughter echoing across Woodford. Betty, our talented diamond dot crafter, is now venturing into , Door hangings for resident rooms and wind chimes have been well-received, and we have more initiatives in the pipeline. Notably, Betty has taken on an ambitious project centered around a kookaburra.

Yesterday on Christmas Eve, residents enjoyed a fun-filled Christmas bingo with festive music playing in the background, all smiles and plenty of cheer. It was lovely to see some families join in.

Today on Christmas Day, residents received their gifts, making the day extra special. 🎁

Earlier this week, we also drew our Christmas raffle tickets and awarded prizes to our top seven winners — congratulations!
