Konect Counselling and Equine Wellness Centre Mental health counsellor dedicated to healing, resilience, and personal growth through in-person, online, and equine therapy.

I offer evidence-based, trauma-informed care to support your journey. As a facilitator of Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL) I am extremely passionate about delivering fun safe and valuable self discovery and personal growth sessions to people within the local community. I have a great desire to assist people on their pathway to their authentic self, and with the help of my small herd, guide them on a path to learn who it is they are at their core. As part of this process I assist in planning how to best use strengths and weaknesses in everyday life. I find fulfillment in mentoring youth to be the best them they can be, and providing choices to allow awakening, and living consciously. I have completed professional studies in areas including children with social and emotional behaviour disorders, Human Resource Organisational theory and change, Consultation and communication theory, and behaviour management. I have worked with children, youth and family members who have numerous diagnoses such as PTSD, Anxiety, ASD, depression, and intellectual impairment, including those with emotional & challenging behaviours. I work with anyone who is seeking help in finding direction, navigating change and improving self-appreciation and image. I am a reiki practitioner and can assist in eliminating energy blockages and open pathways for emotional clearing and healing .

They can sense your nervous system state before you even realize you're stressed.

This is why equine-assisted therapy is so powerful.

When you're around a horse, you can't fake it. Your body either feels safe or it doesn't. The horse responds to your authentic nervous system state, not your words.

Anxiety isn't a character flaw.

It's not weakness. It's not "all in your head."

Anxiety is your nervous system trying to protect you—sometimes even when there's no real threat.

This is where counselling + somatic therapy becomes game-changing.

Because anxiety lives in your body. It's held in your muscles, your breathing, your posture.

So we can't just think our way out of it. We have to feel our way through it.

So when you're dehydrated, you're not just thirsty. You're literally compromising your mental health.

Dehydration affects:
→ Mood and anxiety levels
→ Cognitive function and clarity

If you or you child has ADHD, autism, anxiety, or racing thoughts, you need to know about histamine.

High histamine is linked to: abnormal fears, aggressiveness, autism, bi-polar, compulsive behavior, crying easily, depression, hyperactivity, over-stimulation, racing brain, and more.

I know that's heavy. But most most people don't know this connection exists.

Here's the thing: proper hydration helps your body regulate histamine levels. When your cells are properly hydrated, they can do their job. When they're not? Everything gets amplified.

So if you're noticing you or they are more reactive, more anxious, more overwhelmed—before you assume it's "just ADHD"—check the basics. Sleep. Nutrition. Hydration.

The right kind of hydration.
