One of my favourite poems I would like to share with you.

Have you heard of EMDR before?

I use EMDR with all Fear, Trauma and PTSD based clients. It is a long name ‘Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing’ (EMDR) therapy, developed by a therapist called Francis Shapiro. It was initially developed in 1987 for the treatment of post traumatic stress disorder and now is used for much broader aspects of working when shifting negative thoughts, memories, or flashbacks. In 2019 I trained and was certified in this EMDR process.

Coping with Anxiety: Tips to Reduce Panic Attacks

We understand panic attacks can be crippling, uncertain and feel as though you are in a cycle of constant anxiety.
Here are a few basic tips that can really improve your panic attacks:

Physical Activity. To reduce that anxious energy, practices like yoga, walks or running can help you to calm your nervous system.

Deep breathing exercises. When you’re anxious you are most likely shallow breathing through your lungs. Try to breathe in deeply, push out your belly, hold and breathe out. This will train your body to calm and deep breathe.

Seek professional help. Talking to a professional or booking Hypnotherapy sessions can provide you with the unique tools to cope with anxiety.

The idea of Hypnotherapy feels kind of weird, we get it! But it works. It’s like unleashing a superpower we never knew we had! Yet at the same time, it is the most passive and comfortable thing you can experience. My clients have even fallen asleep (particularly the teenagers) so don’t worry if you fall asleep, we do our best work when we sleep!

Phobias can affect your ability to lead a normal life because it encourages avoidance of the objects or situations that cause the fear.

A certain degree of fear is essential to survival, and is a fundamental human instinct, but the effect of phobias can range from minor disruption and annoyance to significant disability.

Although phobias often run in families, it is not known to what degree this may be genetic or learned behaviour. Most phobias are linked to traumatic events or to learned reactions. But because such irrational fears are triggered and controlled by the unconscious mind, treatment for phobias with hypnotherapy can be very effective. Only about 20% of phobias in adults go away without treatment.
