The idea of Hypnotherapy feels kind of weird, we get it! But it works. It’s like unleashing a superpower we never knew we had! Yet at the same time, it is the most passive and comfortable thing you can experience. My clients have even fallen asleep (particularly the teenagers) so don’t worry if you fall asleep, we do our best work when we sleep!

Phobias can affect your ability to lead a normal life because it encourages avoidance of the objects or situations that cause the fear.

A certain degree of fear is essential to survival, and is a fundamental human instinct, but the effect of phobias can range from minor disruption and annoyance to significant disability.

Although phobias often run in families, it is not known to what degree this may be genetic or learned behaviour. Most phobias are linked to traumatic events or to learned reactions. But because such irrational fears are triggered and controlled by the unconscious mind, treatment for phobias with hypnotherapy can be very effective. Only about 20% of phobias in adults go away without treatment.

Through my own personal journey, I was 26 and found myself in the UK feeling very far away from all my family here in Australia. I was terrified of being medically managed through my first childbirth process. The actual task or becoming a mother was an easy concept but the thought of all the medical interventions was terrifying to me and just not something I wanted to have to go through. At that stage I was looking for a solution, something that would help me keep medical overwhelm at bay.

I researched a lot and found Hypnotherapy. I used it for my own birthing preparation and was so blown away from the results. Whilst on Maternity leave I decided I wanted to learn more about it and actually, that’s what I wanted to do.

I wanted to become “the hypnotherapist”, to do more work on myself and then train to do it and help others.

Hypnotherapy for me was my life changing “aha” moment in many ways as it didn’t just help me through my first childbirth, it helped me heal and restore myself in many ways I never knew was an option.

Quit smoking with Hypnotherapy 🚭

“When I came to you for hypnosis I was ready mentally to do whatever it took to get rid of this, I have tried and tried with every possible assistance to stop smoking, patches, spray, gum, pills, cold turkey, etc etc, so I was hopeful, but doubtful at the same time. I had THE most amazing session with you Miranda, not only the hypnosis, but our consultation beforehand was fantastic, you brought up some things that I had never realised before, and just the information that you gave me made sense and I reflect back on our chat quite often…It has been 13 days since I saw you and gee I feel like a different person. You seem to have flipped a switch in me that has given me the desire to be the person that I have wanted to be for so long. If I can just say that I have not seriously wanted to smoke at all, I have thought “oh, this is when I would have had a ciggie” but have never actually wanted to light up.”
