Part of the experience in moving to Perth, and establishing life here is getting back into the kitchen.

Prior to being a Personal Trainer and I was a Chef for 7yrs (including apprenticeship).

The skills and knowledge I acquired throughout this time has served me well, and stood the test of time.

It allowed me to both serve many of my clients with recipes and meal prep ideas for their fitness goals, but also now as an income while I rebuild a client base here in Perth 💪🏻

🚨 Postural Imbalance 🚨
Somewhat what most would refer to “bad posture” but really it’s the consequence of life in today’s world.

Whether it be sitting at a desk, looking down at a phone or other “unideal postural positions

But the imbalance that comes from the above is “short tight muscles and long weak muscles”.

Funnily enough, the pain most people experience is from the long weak muscles - for example the upper back (between the shoulders especially)

So to treat / release the opposite muscles that are short and tight will help reset the imbalance - therefore treating the pain.

And of course strengthening those weaker/ longer muscles too 💪🏻

Mobility for the gym is crucial, both in the sense of performance/ making gains and injury prevention.

Muscles need to be taken through full range of motion, however sometimes mobility holds us back from doing so, causing other issues down the track.

There are many causes of poor mobility, or mobility issues - ranging from structural / anatomical restrictions, postural dysfunction, muscular tension and general tightness.

Further once muscles have been loosened, repatterining and developing strength in the increased mobility needs to be developed.

All of the above is within the realm of how I work with clients, to get them moving well and feeling strong - in and out of the gym 💪🏻

Too many people suffer from muscle tension and the general day to day aches and pains.

Furthermore it’s something that most just put up with, or think it will resolve itself.

Consider that you can live without such issues.

Consider that it’s not “just the way it is”.

Consider that the postural issues, dysfunctional patterns and general tightness can be treated with ease.

Furthermore that you can be shown how to maintain such results yourself - therefore not being reliant on treatments such as remedial massage.

That is my goal for every client that walks into the clinic.

To be free of their aches and pains, to understand and feel empowered to maintain the results we acquire together 💪🏻

Correcting your SHOULDER PAIN⁠

If you often fee your shoulder pain on the inside of the shoulder blade, around your shoulder and down your arm, then you may consider this pesky little muscle called Scalenes.

Scalenes sit quite deep at the front/ sides of your neck.

This muscle causes a lot of people havoc, both in their day to day, and for me to release (if you know, you know)

So this is just a friendly note that if your getting regular shoulder and / or shoulder blade / back pain, you may need to get your scalenes worked on.

You can gently work into this muscle yourself however (if your brave enough to do so) by pushing down on the inside of you collar bone, working in to the midline (sternum end of collar bone) across laterally (shoulder end of collar bone)

Some general, slow stretching and breathing can also assist a lot with Scalene tightness 👍🏼
