We’re Hiring: General Practice Registered Nurse (RN) & General Practice Enrolled Nurse (EN).

Castlegate Family Practice is currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) and Enrolled Nurse (EN) to join our team.

Positions Available:

Registered Nurse (RN): Full-time (4 days per week) ( flexible )
Enrolled Nurse (EN): Part-time (3 days per week) ( flexible )

About the Role:
You will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, and maintaining clinical standards in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide safe, effective, and patient-centered care
Monitor and assess patient conditions
Administer medications and treatments (within scope)
Maintain accurate clinical documentation
Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals

Requirements:

Current AHPRA registration
General nursing experience is essential
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Commitment to high standards of care

🎄🐾 Ruby’s End-of-Year Review 🐾🎄

Two years at Castlegate.

This year I:
• arrived daily with no understanding of rosters
• sat with nervous patients like it was my job
• made children laugh without trying
• slept through chaos
• stood slightly closer to my humans when things got spicy
• and am the reason there is no food or drinks allowed in the practice

I am festive.
I am calm.
I tolerate Santa hats.

Christmas in a clinic is loud.
Emotional.
Everyone’s tired.

So I do what I do best
exist, lower stress levels, accept pats, repeat.

Two years in.
Still employed.
Still unpaid.
Still waiting on my Christmas bonus (treats).

As the year draws to a close, our hearts are truly full. 🎄✨

This year came with big expectations — from our patients, from the system, and from ourselves. And while we may not have been perfect, we showed up every single day doing our absolute best to care for our community with compassion, respect, and integrity.

Running a general practice is about so much more than appointments and time slots. It’s about people. Listening. Supporting. Reassuring. Carrying responsibility — especially when people are at their most vulnerable.

Castlegate is a small, family-run Australian business, and yes — even though we work in healthcare, we are still a small business. That means real people behind the scenes, real pressures, and a deep personal investment in the care we provide.

We are incredibly thankful for our supportive patients and community — for your kindness, your patience, your understanding, and the trust you place in us. Your encouragement and compassion mean more to our team than you may ever realise.

This year also showed us where we can grow. And as we look ahead, we’re excited about what’s coming new opportunities, new services, and continued improvements that will allow us to care for you even better in the year ahead.

📝 Please order any online repeat prescriptions by 19 December 2025 to allow time for processing before the holiday closure.

🔬 Clinipath Pathology on-site will also be closed from 24 December 2025 to 5 January 2026.

Thank you so much to Good Twisted Potato for coming to our Christmas Night Market.
We’re so grateful you were part of the night and helped make it such a fun, welcoming community event.

Your team was absolutely lovely friendly, smiling and so great with everyone. The twisted potatoes were a massive hit (crispy, golden and totally addictive), and the hot chips, spring rolls and curry puffs disappeared fast for a reason!

It meant so much to us to have you there supporting our family practice and bringing such great vibes to the night.

And yes… even the Grinch tried to sneak in for another twisted potato but sadly got cut off 😅💚

The coffee? Hit the spot perfectly.
And don’t even get me started on the matcha drinks obsessed.
