More snippets of fun times at our Zumba Christmas Party we shared . Best venue ever. We look forward to coming back next year.

I just loved how other people outside of Zumba joined in on the fun with us too. I had so many compliments all round but one stood out to me. A woman said to me as I was leaving ‘I live on the south side but if I lived here I would definitely come to your Zumba classes’. So sweet!!!!!! 🥹

Believe it or not. I have not had a moment to myself to open my presents yet so hopefully I can do that soon. Enjoy your holidays guys. I know I will be.

Loved every minute! Thank you all for making this a fantastic night. Numbers were down this year but we all had a blast just the same! Guys, don’t miss out on the next years Christmas party - it’s guaranteed fun!!!!!!

Thank you everyone who turned up to our last class of Zumba. I was mighty impressed! Numbers generally drop significantly towards the end of the year to accommodate the silly season hoho

But a MASSIVE & heart felt THANK YOU to everyone who came to enjoy themselves in my Zumba class. It’s such a privilege to know you choose to come to my Zumba classes for your enjoyment. You not only support my small business which provides for my family. But more importantly you are supporting, nurturing and loving yourself.

Another year done and let’s welcome 2026 with open arms, a big heart, abundance and pure joy!!!!! 🥹 🥰🤗

This is an emotional post that I was nearly not going to post. This was filmed in the bathroom after my second last Zumba class at Hendra Healthworks. I had an emotional class because it hit me that I won’t see these beautiful faces on a regular basis anymore.

I made the decision to leave because the pay was so bad. I knew I had to leave a long time ago but I had put it off because I had formed such strong connections with the women there. It was also my first paid job as a Zumba instructor so I was sentimental about this particular gym.

However, $50 for the hour does not justify the following considerations.

*Travel time
*Petrol costs
*Practise time
*Class preparation
* Insurance
*ZIN membership
* Zumba clothing
* Social Media time
*High cost of living
*Unique service which you can’t do hour after hour.
*Bringers of joy, endorphin & serotonin release, stress relief, sense of connection and community. And multiple other physical and mental well being benefits - too many to list!!!!!

How can $50/hour justify the above considerations. It appears this pay rate has not changed for over a decade 😱 This is a serious issue in the industry as a whole. I know of an instructor who asked for a pay rise after being with them for over 10 years working but they rejected her request to go from $50 to $60. Needless to say she left, unwillingly. This is how I feel. I feel angry that our work is under valued by gyms when we provide so much. I don’t want to leave my job at Hendra Healthworks but I know I will make more money working for myself.

For me personally, my new base rate is $120/hour which I have currently charged to a school and charge to another service provider I work for. I am negotiable from $80 when covering for others but seriously something needs to drastically change. How do people survive during these tough economical times?

Is there aUnion? Who is advocating for us? Please let me know if anyone has asked for a pay rise before with success? I’m keen to know other people’s experiences around this issue. Is it the same overseas?

3pm - We have prime waterfront views to eat a delicious choice of platters at the Sebel restaurant in Margate. I need to finalise numbers because platters need to be ordered 1 week ahead. The more people that come the lower the cost. Children welcomed!

5pm - Disco dancing with DJ at Sunnies Rooftop which is straight upstairs from the restaurant. Only $10!!!!!! Adults only.

PAYMENTS & CANCELLATIONS

Once I find out final numbers I will divide the amount of people by the number of platters ordered. I will contact you via text so you can vote on what platters you would prefer however I can’t guarantee I can make everyone happy. But I’ll do my best. I will let you know over the weekend how much the platters will be and will ask people to deposit money for the platters & $10 for the dancing together. I’m estimating approximately $30 for dancing and platters but will confirm . Drinks you purchase on the night.

I’m asking that people pay promptly.

Unfortunately, I cannot refund money if you are unable to make it on the day.

I CAN’T WAIT FOR THIS YEAR’S CHRISTMAS PARTY. I have a feeling it's going to be a good one!!!!!!!

When the music started playing and you’re not ready. The class just continued with my little 4yo side kick leading them!!!!!!

I let them go and didn’t feel the need to replay it! They had it down packed. Loved watching it 😍🥰😘

We have been doing this song for a while now and they don’t seem to be sick of it. The repetition of doing it means they felt confident to do it on their own. It was such a proud moment 🥹

Zye’s latest photoshoot by .photography This little ballerina is so hard on herself. There were a lot more photos that were amazing in my eyes but she didn’t want them because they weren’t perfect enough.

I need to work out if I do dinner downstairs in the restaurant or platters upstairs in the rooftop. If I have too many people I can’t do dinner but happy to do platters upstairs and I just divide cost between everyone which would cost approximately about $15-20 pp, depending on the number of people.

It will depend on how many people are coming, this is why I need your rsvp asap. Only 2 people have responded.
