Perimenopause is having a huge moment right now and unfortunately, a lot of women are being misdiagnosed or self-diagnosing.
As much as I love seeing more conversations about women's health, we need to be really careful about how we approach trends like this.
Many women are coming to my clinic after taking off the shelf supplements or supplements endorsed by influencers, sharing that they initially felt better.
However, as time progresses this tends to change and they end up back at square one (or worse) months down the track.
How can this be? The supplements they're taking are treating the symptoms rather than the root cause.
If the underlying cause is sleep deprivation, poor liver clearance, nervous system disregulation or nutrient deficiencies, the body will keep sending you louder messages until you finally pay attention.
