March Magic: Shifting Seasons and Gut-Loving Staples!

🍂🥦 Hello March! Dani here. As we move away from the peak summer heat, it’s a great time to focus on fiber and "grounding" our nutrition for the months ahead.

March’s Fresh Finds! ✨

Early Apples & Pears: The first of the new season's crunch is arriving.

Avocado (Shepard): The skin stays green, but the inside is creamy and delicious!

Ginger & Turmeric: Local roots are perfect for supporting immunity as we head toward autumn.

Asian Greens: Pak Choy and Wombok are starting to love the slightly cooler nights.

Get Planting in March! 🌱

Leafy Greens: Start your silverbeet, kale, and lettuces now.

Brassica Prep: Prepare your beds for broccoli and cauliflower.

Soil Health: Add some compost or aged chicken manure to beds that worked hard all summer.

🍴 Recipe Idea: Roasted Pear & Rocket Salad

➡️2 Pears (peeled and sliced)
➡️Handful of Rocket or Baby Spinach
➡️Small handful of Walnuts
➡️Drizzle of Balsamic Glaze

Method: Lightly grill the pear slices until soft, toss with greens and walnuts. A perfect transition meal!

Want More From Your Lower Body Workouts - Start With Your Hips 🏅

Tight hips = shallow squats, cranky knees, stiff lower back.
Mobile hips = more power, better balance, stronger glutes.

No matter if you're 25 or 75 — these simple stretches help unlock better movement.

1. Kneeling Hip Flexor Stretch
👉 Hold 20–40 sec each side
👉 Gently tuck pelvis (don’t arch your back)

2. Seated Figure-4 Stretch
👉 Cross ankle over knee
👉 Sit tall & lean forward
👉 No knee pain — feel it in the hip

3. 90/90 Hip Rotations
👉 5–8 slow switches
👉 Sit tall
👉 Move with control

4. Standing Hamstring Stretch
👉 Heel on step
👉 Chest tall
👉 Hinge forward (don’t round)

Your hips will thank you. Your workouts will feel stronger.

Tech neck refers to neck pain and stiffness caused by prolonged use of phones, laptops, and other devices, especially when the head is held forward or down for long periods.

This posture increases the load on the neck and upper back, leading to muscle fatigue, joint irritation, and reduced movement over time. Limited breaks, reduced physical activity, and prolonged screen use can all contribute, making neck pain more common even in younger people.

The issue isn’t technology itself, but how long and how often we stay in one position without movement. 💻📱

Rehabilitation physiotherapy helps reduce pain and swelling, restore joint movement and muscle strength, and rebuild coordination and control after injury.

It guides a safe, structured return to training and competition, reducing the risk of re-injury. Rehab also improves movement efficiency, confidence, and performance by addressing underlying weaknesses or imbalances that may have contributed to the injury in the first place.

Beyond recovery, it helps athletes understand their bodies better, promoting long-term resilience and durability in sport. 🏅
