The Physio Movement was built on the philosophy to move away from the traditional and dated Physiotherapy model, and establish a new aged health clinic. This modern treatment approach focuses on long-term management, rather than short-term treatments and prescriptive programming. Shane Brown, TPM Director, is head mentor for all TPM professionals who work collaboratively together. Our patients are able to access our full range of services, with each practitioner understanding that there is not a "one-size-fits-all" approach. Our clinics incorporate tomorrow's technology to improve your body today. Our on-site rehabilitation space caters for all from weekend warriors, through to elite athletes. Within this space, we incorporate state-of-the-art technology which we use for Biomechanical Assessments, running technique, and lower limb angles during activity in the rehabilitation of injuries, such as ACL tears. We utilise modern apps for your phone/tablet device which help you remember your exercises, along with our Telehealth services so that you can access our healthcare movement from wherever you may be. Our clinical software allows for easy communication, reassessment and allows us to constantly readdress goals and progressions. At TPM we are very active in the local community. We pride ourselves in having a strong community presence and always willing to give a helping hand. We have collaborated with local groups, rugby league teams, charity organisations, sporting teams and many more. From rehab to maintenance ~ Paula’s Story

Top tips for women entering perimenopause - from both personal + professional experience!

I have 20 years experience working with women as an accredited exercise physiologist, which puts me in the perimenopausal age group! These are my CURRENT top three tips for entering perimenopause…

1. Understand what the sleep/wake cycle is and how it informs your hormonal health, mood and immunity.

2. MOVE BABY! If you are inactive just start moving, any movement at any time! If you are active, then prioritize strength training for its specific benefits for perimenopausal women.

3. Get a good GP that you can see regularly and who has interest in women’s health. They do exist and although you might have to push to get on their books, it is worth the effort to have them available when you need.

This list is not exhaustive and is simply the first 3 things you can focus on to optimize your health. For more in-depth support, particularly around exercise, recovery (including sleep and stress) and maintaining motivation, reach out - I would love to walk alongside you.
