The swelling is real. The tightness is real. And yes; they will soften. 🤍
If you've just had breast augmentation, the first few weeks can feel nothing like the result you were expecting. Here's what's actually happening in your body and why patience is everything.
The Timeline Nobody Talks About Enough 👇
Week 1–2
Expect swelling, tightness and implants sitting high on the chest. The pectoral muscle is in spasm, skin is adjusting, and everything feels firm. This is completely normal.
Week 3–6
Swelling begins to settle. You'll start to notice early softening — but the implants are still riding high. Resist the urge to compare your result to your final goal at this stage.
The Drop & Fluff ✨
This is the moment most patients wait for; and it's worth the wait.
As the muscle relaxes and the implant pocket stretches and matures, the implants gradually drop into their natural position on the chest wall and fluff — filling out the lower pole for that full, rounded shape.
Your 3-month result is not your final result. Your 6-month result is getting closer. And at 12 months , that's your outcome.
Trust the process. 🤍
Factors that influence your timeline:
→ Implant placement (under vs over the muscle)
→ Implant size and profile
→ Skin elasticity and starting anatomy
→ Compliance with post-operative instructions
Tips to support your recovery:
→ Wear your compression/surgical bra as directed — every day
→ Perform gentle implant displacement massage if advised by Dr Supramaniam
→ Avoid strenuous upper body exercise until cleared
→ Avoid underwire bras until at least 6–8 weeks
→ Stay hydrated, eat well, and prioritise sleep — healing is an active process

Disclaimer: Individual results may vary and depend on factors such as age, health, weight, hormones, and lifestyle. It’s important to note that surgical and invasive procedures entail inherent uncertainties and risks.
