Tomato chilli mussels are such a beautiful nutrient-dense meal for my seafood loving clients 🍅🌶️🦪

Mussels are an excellent source of key nutrients including trace minerals iron, zinc and iodine, plus omega-3s ~ making them a nourishing & tasty option to include in your weekly meal rotation.

Paired with a rich tomato base, you’re also getting lycopene from tomato paste, along with plenty of flavour from herbs and chilli.

I love how versatile this dish is too ~ you can keep it simple with coriander, or switch it up with parsley, basil or your herbs of choice, and adjust the chilli depending on your taste.

Serve with some crusty spelt toast or gluten-free buckwheat bread to soak up all of that delicious sauce 🤍

Full of flavour, deeply nourishing, and a beautiful option that can also be enjoyed in pregnancy.

Your immune system is shaped by a combination of your genes, and the small things you do every day ☀️

Sleep, stress, blood sugar balance, nutrient status, iron stores, vitamin D, and the health of your microbiome can all either support immune resilience or leave you feeling more run-down and vulnerable.

This is a simple reminder that immune resilience and balance isn’t built on one supplement alone ~ it’s built on strong foundations.

And while there are many beautiful herbs used across Western herbal medicine, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda to support immune function ~ the most appropriate prescription will always depend on you, your unique body, and your current needs.

Always speak with your clinician before starting new herbs or supplements.

What if your exhaustion is actually your body trying to protect you?

May is Thyroid Awareness Month, the perfect time to shed light on this tiny gland that plays a huge role in keeping you healthy.

Reverse T3 is a form of thyroid hormone that can increase during times of acute or chronic stress ~ things like surgery, infection, chronic inflammation, ongoing stress, under-eating or over-exercising.

It’s often described as a kind of “mirror image” thyroid hormone, as it can bind to thyroid receptors, but it doesn’t give the same metabolic support as active thyroid hormone, rather it puts the breaks on your energy.

The result? You may feel deeply tired, slowed down and like your body just can’t keep up.

And while that can feel frustrating, it’s also the body doing what it does best ~ trying to protect you and restore balance, forcing rest when it senses too much strain.

Reverse T3 isn’t usually included in standard pathology testing and can be more expensive to assess, but in certain cases it can provide really useful insight.

Sometimes the answer isn’t to push harder.
Sometimes the body is asking for the opposite.

If you're looking for support with your thyroid health, book a naturopathic consult today.

The 2026b Dirty Dozen & Clean Fifteen are here 🍓

Each year, fresh produce in the US is cumulatively assessed for pesticide residues, creating the well-known Dirty Dozen and Clean Fifteen lists, by

You’ll often see familiar foods on the Dirty Dozen like apples, cherries, blueberries and grapes ~ and while it can feel overwhelming, I think the most practical way to use this information is to focus on the foods you eat most often.

If there are certain fruits or vegetables you buy every single week, you’ll usually get the most value from choosing organic versions of those first, where possible.

The Clean Fifteen can also be a really helpful guide, as these tend to be lower in pesticide residues and may feel like a more affordable place to ease some of the dollar pressure, if buying everything organic isn’t realistic.

While this research is based in the US, it’s still relevant here in Australia.
The studies are extremely expensive to perform, but farming practices in Australia are similar enough that the list can still offer useful, practical guidance on where to prioritise your organic dollar.

It doesn’t have to be all or nothing. Sometimes small swaps, made consistently, can go a long way.

I recently had the pleasure of being invited to Talk at the local Gym .

What i especially loved was the Initiative of the Owners Henry & Harry, to ensure their trainers/staff were up to date and informed about women’s hormones.

We covered all things ~ periods, how hormones are dynamic across the menstrual cycle and across the lifespan, perimenopause ~ and how these changes can have a significant impact on training, recovery and performance.

We discussed how Women are not small men. And how peri-menopause and menopause can impact metabolic health, brain health bone health and training capacity.
This post is a shout out to the owners -fitness who invested in their staff, the trainers who attended to upskill.
The domino effect of having informed & empowered trainers will be felt by the gym members and community at large.

A big thank you to for recognising the importance of this conversation and for being so open to learning more about how to better support women in exercise and training.

There is something so special about supporting clients over many seasons of life.

While I love meeting new clients each week, some of my long-standing clients feel like true golden treasures.

I’ve had the privilege of supporting some through preconception, pregnancy, postpartum, and now into new hormonal transitions.

As a clinician, it is such an honour to hold space for someone’s journey over time and to witness the many layers of their health + goals evolve along the way.

While Zoom is such an intimate and effective way to consult, I know some of you have been missing the in-person connection.

For that reason, I’ve taken on sublease of a beautiful new studio space just off Alton Street in Woollahra, where I’ll be available 1–2 Saturdays each month.

If you’d love to book an in-person review over a warm herbal tea in the months ahead, please get in touch with Eloise on
m: 0434 479 377 or
e: health@awakenyourhealth.com.au

I can't wait to welcome you in my new consulting space.

Autumn is here, which means colds and flus often aren’t far behind 😢

This is the time I like to remind people to start thinking about immune support early, rather than waiting until the whole house is sick.

One simple but reliable herb in immune settings is Elderberry.

It’s a gentle addition to broader immune support, and I often include it for infants, kids & adults as it's safety profile is excellent.

Of course, immune optimisation health is also about looking at the foundations:
~ quality sleep
~ nourishing Wholefoods
~ keeping stress in check
~ having the right acute immune support on hand, for when symptoms first appear.
~ taking time to convalesce and properly recover

Now that autumn is here, what are you doing to support your immune system?

If you’d like help putting together an acute immune plan for yourself or your family, get in touch.

Immune-fortifying Shiitake, ginger, soba sou ~ the kind of nourishing meal I keep coming back to as the weather gets cooler 🍜

This recipe is packed with warming, immune-bolstering ingredients like ginger, garlic, spring onions and shiitake mushrooms to help fortify the body through Autumn and Winter.

I love meals like this because they’re simple, comforting and easy to adapt depending on what you have on hand.

The broth itself is so flavourful, and the addition of buckwheat soba noodles makes it feel like a proper nourishing meal.

Shiitake mushrooms are also a beautiful inclusion here, valued for their therapeutic natural beta-glucan compounds, which have been studied for their immune-modulating effects.

It’s the perfect recipe to have on rotation when you want something warming, easy to digest and supportive during cold and flu season.

Save this one for later & happy cooking 😉
