Yesterday we held a fun and playful official opening of our new outdoor learning space and inclusive playground, the Harmony Hive! This was a truly special moment in the life of our school community.
This playground has been explicitly designed to cater for learners with vision impairment and those who use a wheelchair. It’s thoughtful design and features invite discovery through sound, texture, movement and contrast. It’s a space where curiosity is guided by touch, by listening, and by feeling. The sensory elements woven throughout - from textured pathways and tactile materials, carefully chosen plants and water and musical features create an environment where every step, every reach, and every interaction is an opportunity.
Thank you to everyone who contributed to bringing this vision to life - our designers, builders, staff, families, and supporters. Your work will have a lasting impact on generations of students to come.
Heartfelt thanks to special guests Renee Coffey MP and Barbara O'Shea MP, representatives from the Dept of Education, Fred St Architects, Honeywill Consulting, Oasis Constructions and our friends from Churchie for joining us to celebrate this special day.
Narby students - this space is yours and you deserve it. May it be filled with laughter, discovery, curiosity, and connection for many, many years to come.
