We began this project at our Community Weekend last year, hoping to create something together that could be given as a gift to strengthen relationships in our local community.
Thank you so much to Classic Ceramics for donating the tiles, and to everyone who contributed their time, energy, and creativity. This table holds so many stories and shared moments.
I actually nearly cried when Megan and her boss Christina came to see me before Christmas with this table.
They work for L’Arche, which is the most beautiful community operating in our electorate, supporting adults with intellectual disability to live a good and happy life. And to feel included.
I have had the great privilege of walking alongside them for many years now. And L’Arche members had made me this table to acknowledge that.
L’Arche says “A place at the table means to be seen, heard and valued.” 🥹
What an honour. We are so lucky to have L’Arche in our midst. ❤️❤️
