On International Wellness Day, we are reminded that wellbeing is not experienced or protected equally.
Across the world, ongoing conflict, uncertainty, and collective grief continue to impact communities in different ways. For many, access to culturally responsive and people centred support remains out of reach.
Those most affected by racism, injustice, and social exclusion are often the least resourced to prevent harm before it occurs.
Today, we are proud to launch our new Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) prevention project, funded by the Queensland Mental Health Commission.
Grounded in growing evidence that social belonging is protective, this work centres community, culture, and lived experience. We recognise that wellbeing is shaped by connection, safety, access, and belonging.
On this day, we reaffirm that prevention is about creating the conditions for people to feel connected, safe, supported, and able to thrive.
