Everyday Gratitude Practice!

Gratitude isn't about ignoring what's difficult, it's about also noticing what's good!

A daily gratitude practice is a simple exercise which can improve mental wellbeing, reduce anxiety and even strengthen relationships!

This can be as simple as taking a moment at the end of the day to notice some things that went well, were helpful or brought you joy!

It could be anything from a song that lifted your mood, someone holding the door open or the way the light came through the trees this morning!

Overtime this simple habit can reframe how you see the world and yourself because the more we look for the good, the more we will find!

Give it a try today and let us know what you're grateful for!

Everyday Present Moment Awareness💙

While mindfulness can look like this picture and come from practices like yoga, meditation and breathwork, there are also many simpler, everyday forms of mindfulness which may be more accessible to you!

Things like looking out the window of the bus on your morning commute instead of at your phone. Noticing things like cloud shapes, types of plants, even people watching can bring you back into the present moment and calm your mind during a time which can often involve spiralling thoughts.

A calm and curious approach like this can be incorporated into any part of your everyday routine!

Think before bed, what can you hear around you? When your cooking dinner, what specific tastes can you identify? When you’re getting dressed, try noticing how different fabrics feel or even try listening to a song a few times and identifying aspects of it you may have not noticed before.

Simply engaging with your senses can provide a feeling of presence and calm in moments that can feel automatic and monotonous.

These seemingly small activities are a form of Present Moment Awareness, a mindfulness technique that can help reduce stress, anxiety, improve mood and even increase creativity!

See if you can find a moment in your day where you could give this practice a go!

The Power of Social Support 🤝

Sharing a meal is more than just enjoying food, it's an opportunity to connect, nurture relationships and support your wellbeing!

Mental health can often feel like an solo journey, but it should not be understated that social connection is a powerful protective factor and reaching out to trusted friends and family can make a meaningful difference to your psychological health!

According to the National Institute of Health and Welfare, social isolation and loneliness are linked to a range of mental and physical health issues from mental illness and emotional distress to weakened immune system and poor health behaviours. On the flip side, regular social contact is associated with improved mood, resilience and overall health and wellbeing!

Making efforts to connect with others is a simple, accessible and mutually uplifting way to care for yourself and those around you!
So... who are you sharing your next meal with?
