When should we reach out to a psychologist?

There are countless reasons people seek therapy, from feeling overwhelmed or disconnected to simply wanting to understand themselves better.

Whatever challenges you're facing, there are none too big or too small for therapy. If something is affecting your wellbeing, it's important, and talking to someone can make a real difference.

October is Menopause Awareness Month!

Menopause Awareness Month reminds us how vital education is in supporting women’s health. Too often, women go through this transition without enough information or understanding of what is happening to their minds and bodies.

By increasing awareness, we can ensure that women have access to care, emotional support, and practical strategies for managing symptoms. Awareness builds confidence, connection, and compassion, and is one of the first steps toward helping all women navigate menopause with strength and understanding.

Our clinic is here to provide guidance, psychological support, and a safe space to talk about the emotional side of menopause. By learning how these changes affect both the brain and body, women can take proactive steps toward balance and well-being.

Progress Not Perfection!

When we’re working toward change, it’s easy to fall into all-or-nothing thinking and the belief that if we’re not doing it perfectly, it’s not worth doing at all.

But the truth is, every small step matters! Change, healing and growth is not linear, it's made up of tiny, intentional moments that add up over time.

So today, make sure you celebrate the small wins:
Getting out of bed, calling a friend, pausing before reacting, showing up even when it’s hard.

No one is behind. Everyone is building something, one step at a time!

Body Image And Eating Disorder Awareness Week!

Our clinic is proud to acknowledge and support , a national initiative dedicated to increasing understanding of eating disorders and promoting body acceptance.

Eating disorders are serious and complex mental health conditions. While body dissatisfaction can be a contributing factor, a range of influences often play a role in their development including trauma, genetics, personality traits, health conditions, and sociocultural pressures.

This week, we emphasise the importance of recognising that all bodies are valid, and that eating disorders can affect individuals of any size, background, or identity.

CWCQLD offers evidence-based psychological support for individuals experiencing disordered eating and body image concerns. Treatment is tailored, compassionate, and grounded in current clinical best practice.

Everyday Gratitude Practice!

Gratitude isn't about ignoring what's difficult, it's about also noticing what's good!

A daily gratitude practice is a simple exercise which can improve mental wellbeing, reduce anxiety and even strengthen relationships!

This can be as simple as taking a moment at the end of the day to notice some things that went well, were helpful or brought you joy!

It could be anything from a song that lifted your mood, someone holding the door open or the way the light came through the trees this morning!

Overtime this simple habit can reframe how you see the world and yourself because the more we look for the good, the more we will find!

Give it a try today and let us know what you're grateful for!

Everyday Present Moment Awarenessđź’™

While mindfulness can look like this picture and come from practices like yoga, meditation and breathwork, there are also many simpler, everyday forms of mindfulness which may be more accessible to you!

Things like looking out the window of the bus on your morning commute instead of at your phone. Noticing things like cloud shapes, types of plants, even people watching can bring you back into the present moment and calm your mind during a time which can often involve spiralling thoughts.

A calm and curious approach like this can be incorporated into any part of your everyday routine!

Think before bed, what can you hear around you? When your cooking dinner, what specific tastes can you identify? When you’re getting dressed, try noticing how different fabrics feel or even try listening to a song a few times and identifying aspects of it you may have not noticed before.

Simply engaging with your senses can provide a feeling of presence and calm in moments that can feel automatic and monotonous.

These seemingly small activities are a form of Present Moment Awareness, a mindfulness technique that can help reduce stress, anxiety, improve mood and even increase creativity!

See if you can find a moment in your day where you could give this practice a go!

Progress not perfection! ❤️

Progress doesn’t always come in big leaps. Sometimes, it’s in saying no, taking a break, or simply getting out of bed.

Small steps count! Don’t let aiming for perfection stop you from giving something a go!

Every effort to support yourself is valuable and should be celebrated as a move towards a happier, healthier you!

So make sure to celebrate a small step you've made today!
