We have an update for our “P2P Moreton Bay “Walk and Talk” sessions!

A reminder that there will be NO walk next Tuesday, July 22nd, as the P2P Moreton Bay team will be away for training. But don’t worry—mark your calendars for the following Tuesday, July 29th, because we have a special event planned! 🎉

Join us at 9:00 AM for a delightful coffee catch-up at Jetty Lounge. ☕️ After our caffeine fix, we’ll stroll over to the entrance of the Redcliffe Jetty Information Centre for a guided walk at 9:30 AM with the amazing Steve, a history buff who’s bursting with fascinating stories about the buildings and their past owners. 🏛️📜

We’re also excited to share that one of our walkers, Rodney, has a wealth of knowledge about the Moreton Bay region and its buildings. When Rodney and Steve come together for this walk, it’s sure to be an enriching experience filled with insights and stories that you won’t want to miss!

In fact, connections can be serendipitous—Rodney has recently connected with MBRIT and the Information Centre and could potentially become a tour guide for the Moreton Bay City Council’s Walk and Talk. You never know where P2P Walk and Talk could lead you!

We would love for everyone to come and join us at 9:30am. If you can’t make it for coffee at 9:00am, that’s perfectly fine—just meet us at the Information Centre at 9:30am!

This is a peer-led initiative, welcoming people with disabilities, their carers, and supporters. Let’s come together, enjoy some fresh air, and make wonderful memories! 🌍💖

Looking forward to seeing you all there!

📢 We’re running a national survey about the NDIS Section 10 changes - and we need your voice.
✍️ Tell us what’s happening to you: https://forms.office.com/r/N8H4hxGdmR

Later this year, governments will decide the final rules about what supports the NDIS can and can’t fund. If we don’t speak up now, the “In and Out” lists could become permanent.
Already, half of respondents say they’ve lost flexibility or can’t get the supports they need.

Here’s what people are telling us:
“Plan flexibility has gone. I need supports that are on the ‘Out’ list”. Risk to my safety, health, or wellbeing due to support cut.”

We’ll take your stories straight to the people in charge - through our formal submission and advocacy to all governments.

[Image Description: A red background graphic with a large white speech bubble. The text reads: “Community Voice on the NDIS Section 10 Changes: ‘Plan flexibility has gone.’ Take our survey and tell us your story.” A red and white megaphone sits in the lower left corner. The Every Australian Counts logo appears in the bottom right.]

💙 Did you ever wonder what the benefit of having a Plan Manager is?

If you’re on the NDIS, a Plan Manager can be a game changer! Here’s how:

✅ They handle all the tricky admin — paying invoices, providing statements and information to help keep your spending on track.
✅ They give you more choice and control — you can use providers who aren’t NDIS registered.
✅ They save you time and stress — so you can focus on your goals, not the paperwork.
✅ They’re your friendly go-to for advice and support when you need it.
✅ Plus, with P2P you get access to an easy-to-use App to view and approve claims anytime, anywhere.

At P2P, you’ll always have real people who care — and who you can talk to whenever you need help or advice. Our Plan Management team is here to help you get the most out of your plan — your plan, your way!

Yesterday’s Walk n Talk – Sunshine, Sea Breezes & Good Company ☀️🌊

What a stunning morning we had at yesterday’s Walk n Talk with P2P Moreton Bay!

Every Tuesday at 9am, we come together for a gentle walk and meaningful conversation — and yesterday’s stroll along Redcliffe Jetty reminded us just how special this spot is.

In the video below, Shaun shares a few words about why Walk n Talk means so much — and yes, he somehow still has energy after running 94km last week as part of his training for the Jetty 2 Jetty Half Marathon & Fun Run event later this month! Legend.

Come along, share your stories, and connect — whether you have stories to share or just keen for a chat and a coffee, there’s a place for everyone.

We’ll be back next Tuesday, 9am at the entrance to Redcliffe Jetty — we’d love to see you there!

🖤💛❤️ NAIDOC Week 2025: The Next Generation – Strength, Vision & Legacy ❤️💛🖤

This NAIDOC Week, Parent to Parent celebrates the strength, vision and legacy of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

At P2P, we believe inclusion starts with listening, learning and walking alongside community. We support First Nations families and people with disability through peer connection, accessible information, leadership opportunities and culturally respectful programs that put people first.

We’re proud to stand with the young leaders, families, carers and Elders who are shaping a more inclusive future — one where disability pride, cultural identity and community connection go hand in hand.

Together, we’re building a legacy of strength, self-determination and belonging.

Creating community through conversation and connection 🌱

Curious about early childhood supports and how the NDIS can help your family? 💙 Join us for a friendly, free session where we’ll be joined by Tracey Lloyd from BUSHkids Fraser Coast, who’ll unpack the NDIS Early Childhood Approach — what it means, how it works, and how it can support children under 6 with developmental delay or under 9 with disability.

This is a relaxed and welcoming space for people living with disability, supporters, parents, carers, grandparents and families to come together, ask questions, and learn more about the supports available for children. Bring your questions, bring a friend — and let’s chat over a cuppa!

📅 Tuesday, 15 July 2025
🕐 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
📍 Urangan Wellness Centre, corner of Elizabeth Street and Miller Street, Urangan

Come along to:
🌱 Learn about early childhood supports
🤝 Connect with others in a safe and understanding space
📘 Share experiences and learn practical tools to help navigate the system
☕ Morning tea provided

Whether you're just getting started or looking for ongoing support, this peer group is a place to feel heard, find connection, and leave with something useful.
