✈️ What an amazing day for our Stand By Me Peer Group!

Today, the Stand By Me Peer Group had the exciting opportunity to visit Gladstone Airport, and what an experience it was! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by CEO Mark and his fantastic team.

Everyone had an awesome time exploring the airport, learning new things, and sharing plenty of big smiles along the way 😊

A special shoutout to Mark, who made everyone feel so comfortable. He even let us know that if anyone ever feels a little unsure about coming to the airport, they can call ahead so his team can support them, and we can even wave to him in his office when we visit! 👋

We were also blown away by the kindness and professionalism of everyone we met - from the security team to the café staff, and of course Mark and Shaunagh, who took the time to answer all our questions and explain just how important airport procedures are.

Gladstone Airport is leading the way in inclusion, proudly supporting the Sunflower Lanyard and continuing to make upgrades to ensure the airport is accessible and welcoming for everyone 🌻

Thank you for such a memorable and inclusive experience - we can’t wait to visit again! 💙

✈️ Stand By Me Peer Group: Airport Adventure! ✈️

Next Wednesday, 18 March at 10:00 AM, our Stand By Me Peer Group will meet at Gladstone Airport (31 Aerodrome Road, Gladstone) for a behind-the-scenes tour!

We’ll learn all about travelling, including:
-Going through security - what to take, what not to take
-Practicing security checks and being pulled aside for random screenings
-Touring the airport behind the scenes
-Stopping at the café for lunch together

💛 We’ll also promote Sunflower Lanyards, helping travellers with hidden disabilities have a smoother, stress-free experience.

Come along for a fun, educational, and interactive morning!

🌊 Weekly Wonder 🎣

Our P2P Moreton Bay and Brisbane Taum’s Fishing Day Peer Group recently headed out to Baxter’s Jetty for a day by the water, and while the wind certainly made its presence known, it didn’t dampen the spirit of the group!

With rods in hand and plenty of laughs along the way, everyone enjoyed the chance to connect, share stories, and spend time together outdoors. Days like these are a great reminder that sometimes the best part isn’t just the fishing - it’s the friendships, fresh air, and moments shared along the jetty.

A big thank you to everyone who came along and made the day such a success. We’re already looking forward to the next one! 🎣💙
