Become a GoodSAM responder today!
GoodSAM was founded in 2013 to radically change the response to Cardiac Arrests. By alerting those trained to nearby cardiac arrests while an ambulance is en-route, earlier CPR and defibrillation has saved many lives.
Thier core values have always been:
- Governance
- Security
- Collaboration
- Innovation
It is these core values that has enabled some of the world's largest and most forward-thinking emergency services to integrate with GoodSAM. On average, GoodSAM now deploys a trained responder to a cardiac arrest every 3 minutes.
With the GoodSAM community, we have also developed the world's largest defibrillator registry.
GoodSAM has been the cardiac arrest alerting system across Victoria since 2017 and many dozens of lives have been saved as a result
When someone nearby has a cardiac arrest, the GoodSAM app alerts registered responders to help before the ambulance arrives.
How does GoodSAM work?
When someone calls Triple Zero (000) for a cardiac arrest, the GoodSAM app sends an alert to nearby responders.
The responder gets the location of the patient and the nearest AED.
The responder can start cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and use the automated external defibrillator (AED) if needed, while the ambulance is on its way.
Why is it important?
Every minute without CPR or defibrillation lowers the chance of survival by 10 per cent.
Early help from responders can greatly increase survival rates.
