Congratulations to our newly qualified Explorer 30 divers who dived in limited viz for a whole weekend. Great skills mastered and our deep dive was so much fun even if it felt more like a night dive. You worked hard congratulations team.

Another fab way to end the week - diving with a purpose.
Great work by our Scuba Warriors today hauling out another 200kgs of rubbish- we are nearly up to 7tonne of rubbish we’ve removed in 3 years of diving (if weather permits) once a month, all from under our local jetty’s and bridges.
It’s scuba therapy for the ocean. Thank you team and thank you Jono for taking it to the tip.

Today the IMPACT of Your SUPPORT from our Go Fund ME campaign and our Masked Ball enabled us to help our disabled clients again - Thank You !!!

One of our clients will be out of pain now for 3 days, one will begin to get bladder control back. One will feel stronger from the core exercise thus holding himself up stronger with more self confidence. All our clients begin increasing lung function again, all will have gotten a huge workout - better than any of their other activities and therapies are able to provide. All will have the best night sleep tonight than they've had for months. Thank you to all who contributed to making this possible for our clients.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who stepped up to be at our Masked Ball — raising awareness, raising fun, and raising vital funds to continue our Scuba Therapy. Not even the torrential rain could stop you! Instead, our people came from far and wide to be part of this magical evening.

Our inspiring guest speaker the Matt Formston shared what's possible with an "I can" attitude. Ailsa and Andrew enlightened us with the benefits they get from exercising underwater and why The Scuba Gym must continue to help people with disabilities to grow, heal and be better.

Our dashing Master of Ceremonies, Bronte Pollard, kept everyone bidding on the auction items and encouraging plenty of raffle sales - thank you Bronte for ensuring the night flowed so well.

Our band was Moodwatch and they got the party pumping, thank you.

Thank you to all who donated gifts or services to our auction or raffle - all prizes were very well received. Thank you Umina Surf Life Saving Club who provided the venue and our friends who volunteered to run the bar.

This has been an impressive start to our fundraising journey which will continue. We raised enough money to begin our scuba therapy again and look forward to diving back into our pools this week. The fabulous photos have been donated by Sylvi from Third Tree Creatives who gave her time to capture the evening so well. Her talent is behind the camera both still photography and documentary video. Thank you Sylvi.

And thanks to Matt Waters from Scuba GOAT who encouraged his followers not attending the ball to join the silent auction.

You all made a huge difference - Thank you !!

Scuba Therapy and Adaptive Scuba

The Scuba Gym allows people with Special Needs, like Quadraplegics, Paraplegics, Multiple Sclerosis, Cerebral Palsy, Lymes Disease, Dandy Walker Syndrome, Hypotonia, Fibromyalgia, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS), Autism, Down Syndrome, PTSD and amputees, and all others that have the desire to learn to scuba dive.

We have seen autistic children concentrate, focus, gain confidence, do things their parents thought they would never do.

Scuba Diving allows for unique therapy in a weightless environment giving people the ability to increase strength and flexibility not possible during normal workouts. At the Scuba Gym, individualized workouts without gravity are designed to naturally heal the body. The benefits are individual to each participant and are life-changing.
