Why am I getting facial hair? 🤍
This is something I get asked about a lot in the salon — and I promise you, you are not the only one.
Most of the time, facial hair growth in women comes down to hormones. The two biggest causes I see are Polycystic O***y Syndrome (PCOS) and Menopause.
With PCOS, your body produces more testosterone, which can lead to thicker, darker hair — especially on the chin, lip, and jawline.
With menopause, oestrogen drops, and that hormone shift can cause new facial hair growth, even if you’ve never had it before.
It can feel frustrating or even a little embarrassing… but it’s actually very normal, and I see it all the time.
In my salon, I always focus on gentle, consistent hair removal while protecting your skin barrier — because your skin comes first.
If this is something you’re dealing with, you’re always welcome to chat to me about it 🤍
