Hey everyone 💚
We just wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who reached out to support the St John WA Youth Academy vegetable garden 🌱
After a bit of a rocky first attempt, the support from our community has been incredible — and this project is now coming together beautifully for our kids.
This will be a special surprise for our Academy members when they arrive for training on Thursday. We wanted to show them what community really looks like — people stepping in to help, support, and lift each other up when it’s needed most 💚
It’s also our way of saying thank you to the kids for showing up each week and giving 100% to their training. We see the effort you’re putting in, and we truly appreciate it — including the work you’ve already started on the garden 🌱
A very special thank you to our amazing sponsors Sarah Nottle and the parents from Mauravillo Estate, along with the Xavier and Versoza Acosta families, for offering their help and donating much-needed garden items 🙌

They celebrated this incredible milestone at their graduation ceremony last night.

This achievement reflects their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to Service to Humanity while continuing to lead with heart 🚑💛

All three already volunteer with us at the Wundowie Sub Centre and are part of a team made up of many highly qualified paramedics and nurses.

🎉 Congratulations to Zarlie on receiving her 5-Year Service Bar, proudly presented by our Chairperson, Jarrod, in recognition of her ongoing dedication and commitment to the Wundowie Subcentre.

🤝 In addition to this milestone, Zarlie has generously committed her time to the role of Volunteer Development Officer, where she will deliver the Continuous Education Program to our volunteers on a monthly basis. This role plays a vital part in supporting professional development and maintaining high standards across our service.

Today our Chairperson, Jarrod Marsh was busy installing a new community defibrillator at the Spencers Brook Community group shelter, located on the corner of Spencers Brook Road and Thomas Street, Spencers Brook.

This life-saving equipment was proudly donated and installed by St John WA Wundowie Sub Centre as part of our ongoing commitment to community safety and wellbeing.

We would also like to thank the Spencers Brook Progress Association for their support and assistance in getting this installed today.

In the event of an emergency, this defibrillator can be accessed by calling 000 to obtain the access code. St John WA will also dispatch the nearest available crew to attend.

This defibrillator is available for all community members to use in a life-saving emergency.
