Asteroid Sedna #90377 transiting 0Β°Gemini.
She was discovered in the year 2003 and measures about 1000 miles. Known as the largest planetary body located after the discovery of Pluto. Three times further away from the Sun than Pluto. Some astronomers call her a planetoid. She is the next reddish coloured planet body after Mars. Astrologers consider Sedna as a trans-personal planet after Uranus, Neptune and Pluto. She is so far off in the Cosmos which is why she is named after the Goddess of the Inuits which rules over the seas and said to reign cold Arctic depths.
Sedna, the Dismembered Goddess of the Deep (Underworld)
From Inuit mythology, Sedna is a sea goddess, known as the Mother of the Deep or the Mistress of the Underworld Ocean. Her story is one of betrayal, transformation, and ultimate sovereignty over the subconscious depths.
In myth, Sedna is a young woman who is either tricked into marrying a seabird spirit or flees an unwanted man. Her father, attempting to rescue her from the dire situation, rows her away in a boat. But when the seas grow stormy, and their lives are endangered, he throws Sedna overboard to save himself. As she clings to the side of the boat, he cuts off her fingers to force her release. Her severed fingers fall into the ocean and transform into the creatures of the sea.. seals, whales, and fish, while Sedna sinks to the ocean floor, becoming a powerful goddess who rules over all marine life.
Sednaβs story speaks to the archetype of the betrayed feminine.. the daughter sacrificed, the woman dismembered. Her suffering initiates a powerful transformation.
Like Inanna, Persephone, or other goddesses who descend into the underworld, Sedna finds her power not in escape, but in embracing the depths. She becomes queen of a realm others fear, governing the life giving ocean and demanding respect, truth, and reciprocity.
Sedna cannot be placated by superficial gestures. In Inuit tradition, shamans must journey to the bottom of the sea to comb her hair and soothe her rage before successful hunts can resume. This act symbolizes the need to reconcile with the unconscious, to honor pain, and to tend the wounds of the feminine.
She teaches us that the deepest wisdom, power, and healing are often found through our descent, into grief, into the body, into the unconscious.. and only through tending the forgotten or repressed parts of ourselves can we restore balance.
As Sedna moves through Gemini from 2024 to 2068, we might collectively be called to dive into the sea of the mind, to reclaim the severed parts of our intellectual, emotional, and communicative selves.. especially the feminine, intuitive, and relational ways of knowing that have long been dismissed.
Mythological and Archetypal Interpretation of Sedna
The myth of Sedna originates from Inuit cosmology and occupies a central role in Arctic indigenous understandings of the sea and the underworld. Sedna, often referred to as the Mother of the Sea or the Mistress of the Underworld Ocean, is a liminal figure who embodies themes of betrayal, transformation, and sovereignty over the unconscious and instinctual realms. Her narrative, though variable across regions, consistently revolves around a profound act of abandonment and a subsequent metamorphosis that elevates her to divine status.
In the most commonly recounted version of the myth, Sedna is coerced into an undesirable marriageβeither to a deceptive bird spirit or under false pretenses. Her father, in an effort to rescue her, attempts to flee by boat. However, as a storm arises and their lives are endangered, he throws Sedna into the freezing sea. When she clings to the side of the boat, he severs her fingers, which fall into the ocean and transform into sea animals such as seals, whales, and fish. Sedna, maimed and betrayed, sinks to the bottom of the ocean, where she becomes a powerful deity governing all marine life.
Archetypally, Sedna represents the wounded feminine, the aspects of life and consciousness that have been betrayed, suppressed, or exiled. Her severed fingers symbolize the creative and life-giving powers that emerge through loss and fragmentation. From a depth psychological perspective, her descent into the ocean signifies a passage into the unconscious, where she becomes a guardian of primal forces and intuitive wisdom.
Sedna has come to symbolize the deep, often painful processes of collective and personal awakening.
As a trans-Neptunian object with an extraordinarily long orbital period (~11,400 years), Sedna's movement through the zodiac marks eras of evolutionary significance. Her ingress into Gemini (2024β2068) may signal a period in which the collective is invited to confront the fragmentation of knowledge, the wounding of the voice, and the dismemberment of relational intelligence, while also reclaiming new forms of communication, cooperation, and consciousness from the depths.
Sedna functions not only as a mythic figure but also as an archetype of transformational suffering, regenerative wisdom, and ecological reciprocityβone whose relevance has only deepened in the context of contemporary global, psychological, and environmental crises.

We are currently experiencing what many are calling a digital revolution. With Sedna entering Gemini in 2024, this era is likely to evolve into something even more profoundβa revolution of consciousness. It's a bold, perhaps even hopeful, claim, and while much of whatβs being said about Sedna in Gemini is still speculative, there are some compelling indicators.
Given that Gemini is an air sign associated with the mind, communication, intellectual discourse, and the exchange of ideas, we can expect these themes to play a central role during Sednaβs transit.
One notable event from Sednaβs discovery year, 2003, was the advancement of neural networks, laying the groundwork for todayβs Artificial Intelligence. This technological leap is symbolically linked to Sednaβs emergence. Interestingly, futurist, inventor, and scientist Ray Kurzwei who made numerous predictions in the 1990s, many of which have already come true, envisioned exactly this kind of transformation.
I found an article on astro.com that shared info on this. ππβ¨οΈ π
