Parsvakonasana OR Side Angle Pose
Is a great pose that strengthens and stretches legs, hips, hamstrings and ankles, while opening the chest and shoulders creating a long diagonal line through the whole side body. A great pose to notice if you’re holding any tension and asking if you can soften the muscles in your face and breathe from the belly.

I saw this post and it really resonated with me, so I thought I'd share:

"Stretching is the most visible part, not the most important one.
Yoga trains how you breathe under load.
How your joints organize instead of collapse.
Where your attention goes when things get challenging.
Strength and control aren’t about forcing shape.
They’re about staying integrated while you move.
Grounding is the through line.
If you feel connected to the floor and your breath, the rest organizes itself.
That’s what practice is really building."

The countdown is on, one more week until we are back in the studio together!

I've had a wonderful summer break, hitting the road along the coast leaving my watch and concern for time at home and living in the present moment as much as I could.

But, I am now ready to get back into routine and as much as I've enjoyed the rest and play, my body and mind are ready to return to my regular yoga and meditation practices ... will you join me?

***UPDATE: In the spirit of ease and efficiency, all yoga classes will now be $20.
You may choose to purchase a casual class every time you come, the buy-as-you-go option, or perhaps you’d prefer to buy a few classes at a time selecting the 5 or 10 class yoga pass option.

*Casual Class - $20 Single class purchase
*5 Class Yoga Pass - $100 Valid for 2 months
*10 Class Yoga Pass $200 - Valid for 4 months

First class back will be Wednesday 21 January 2026

Dear Yoga Moves West Community, thank you for an amazing year!

How was 2025 for you?

As you reflect on the year that was perhaps ask yourself … what were your biggest wins? Your biggest challenges? Your biggest learnings/takeaways? What brought you joy? And sadness?

Before jumping into the new year, take a moment if you can, to consider the following quote I read that resonated with me as I was preparing for a hard rubbish collection and cleaning out my wardrobe ...

“De-cember, De-clutter, De-tach, De-lete anything that De-values your life. Don’t bring it into 2026.”

By removing what no longer serves you, you can walk into the new year lighter, and with room to collect, expand and grow, into the version that’s waiting for you … I can’t wait to meet them!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND ALL WHO YOU HOLD DEAR
