🌿 From My Family to Yours 🌿

We thought it was about time we re-introduced ourselves. I’m Kath, Director of Your Way Care Providers, and this is my husband Syd. We work side-by-side in our small, family-run NDIS service, supporting our clients and their families with the kind of care we’d want for our own loved ones.

I’ve been working in the disability sector for many years, in a variety of roles – from hands-on support work to management. Over that time, I’ve met incredible people, listened to their stories, and seen first-hand how the right support can change lives. What I also saw was how often people were treated like just another number… and I knew I wanted to do things differently.

That’s why I started Your Way Care Providers – to offer truly personalised, support where relationships come first. Our mission is simple – to build connections that feel like family, truly hear each person’s story, and shape our care around their dreams and aspirations.

Syd and I share the same values – kindness, respect, and integrity – and we bring them to every part of our work. Whether it’s helping with daily living, building independence, or getting out and about in the community, we’re passionate about making a real difference every day.

Disability Pride Month is more than a celebration – it’s a movement. It reminds us that disability is not something to be fixed or hidden – it’s a powerful part of human diversity.

At Your Way Care Providers, we stand proudly beside our participants, families, and support workers – advocating for inclusion, respect, and representation. This month, we honour the journeys, strengths, and identities of people with disability, and continue to work toward a world that embraces every ability.

🧡 This July, join us in:

- Recognising the value and rights of people with disability
- Challenging stigma and outdated attitudes
- Celebrating individuality, resilience, and pride

🌈 The colours of the Disability Pride Flag represent the diversity of the disability community:

- Black: Symbolises the anger and mourning for victims of violence and abuse
- Red: Physical disabilities
- Yellow: Neurodiversity
- White: Invisible and undiagnosed disabilities
- Blue: Psychosocial disabilities
- Green: Sensory disabilities

Together, we create space for visibility, voice, and empowerment. Because pride means being unapologetically yourself – and that should always be supported.

This year marks 50 years of NAIDOC Week — a powerful milestone that celebrates the strength, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across generations.

The 2025 theme, “The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy”, honours the trailblazers who have paved the way, while shining a light on the young leaders of today who carry that legacy forward.

NAIDOC Week is a time to listen, reflect, and engage — to celebrate Country, culture, and community.

We're expanding and looking for Expressions of Interest (EOI) from individuals, families, and support coordinators who share our passion for empowering people to live independently, build confidence, and achieve their goals.

At YWCP, we believe support should be as unique as the individual. We don’t just deliver services — we walk alongside every person, listening to their needs, championing their choices, and creating a path that reflects who they are.
