Christmas morning at Rumbalara House brought an early morning visit from Santa and many helpers to all of our residents! Residents were overwhelmed when they discovered their gifts had been personally chosen for them by staff who know them so well.

It was a very touching moment to be able to spend Christmas morning with our wonderful residents.

Arts and crafts activities were very popular with our residents during December! Residents at Vietnam Veterans enjoyed participating in craft sessions with Mary, our wonderful community volunteer, as well as various painting activities with our activities staff.

All the painted artworks and crafts were used to decorate their home during the Christmas season.

Residents, families and staff at Vietnam Veterans have really enjoyed our new virtual reality (VR) project. This activity provides exciting new experiences, allowing participants to travel and see different places around the world, enjoy educational content, play games and explore other adventures in a safe and controlled environment.

This project has been an amazing travel experience for many of our residents who had indicated their travel interests in an earlier bucket lists project. It has enabled residents to now achieve their goals, and experience so many new activities through virtual reality.

One of the major bucket lists for our Rumbalara House residents is to travel, so off to London we went in our armchair travel!

After our trusty security Sniffer dog Coco gave us all the all-clear, residents enjoyed wining and dining in their first class before our pilot resident safely landed the plane... just!

We were welcomed to London by our favourite musician, Ken, playing God Save The King before residents visited all the must-see places in England. This was a very reflective journey for some with a few Ten Pound Poms among our residents - certainly a trip down memory lane for many!

Our Story

Vietnam Veterans Keith Payne VC Hostel has been delivering the highest level of personalised, 24-hour aged care to its residents since 1991.

While our heritage is built upon caring for those who served so bravely, we are a community that also welcomes non-veterans to make their home with us.

Located only 5-minutes from the ocean in Noraville on the northern end of the NSW Central Coast, surrounded by lush bush surrounds and spacious grounds, the facility provides the most peaceful setting for residents to share their stories with neighbours, family and loved ones.

We’re a fully accredited, not-for-profit aged care community that caters for up to 76 residents on either a full-time or temporary respite care basis.
