Hi, I'm Daphy. The deaf RN. I'm a profoundly deaf retired nurse sharing deaf memes, stories and raising awareness for the hard of hearing and deaf community.

As a former nurse educator I love sharing tips for NDIS providers on effective communication Advocacy for hard of hearing and deaf people, their families. People with hearing loss or low hearing can manifest their dreams, live fulfilling lives and find their tribe who are patient, respectful and good communicators. Tips for disability, community, aged care and front line workers on how to effectively communicate with people who live with deafness or hearing impairment. I specialise in lipreading, chose not to go the cochlear implant journey and do not use Auslan sign language. It is well documented that people who live with disabilities experience a higher rate of domestic and family violence in Australia. Let's raise awareness together and stamp out abuse of women and disabled people.

Nearly 200 young people in Wisconsin are both deaf and blind, and they relied on the Wisconsin Deafblind Technical Assistance Project for help. Now the project has been defunded.
