Yackandandah Health is jointly supported by the local team, the board and Apollo Care - all working together, along with Wellbeing Advocacy Yackandandah, to support the service and the people it cares for every day.

Our shared focus is on strengthening Yackandandah Health while making sure local care remains sustainable. The community spirit that built this place over the past 100 years isn’t going anywhere. It's just got a stronger foundation behind it. Here’s to a bright future together!

Geoff Simmons, President of Wellbeing Advocacy Yackandandah, has seen first-hand what it takes to keep essential services alive in a small regional town. When the nursing service faced uncertain times, the community came together to fundraise to keep it going. That's how Yackandandah works.

Last Friday, Yackandandah locals came together to celebrate an incredible milestone - 100 years of bush nursing in the town. 💛 Festivities began with the opening of the bush nursing exhibition, "Thank God You’re Here, Nurse", at the museum, before the community moved to Yackandandah Health Aged Care for an Open Day. Here, residents, families, staff, volunteers, past and current Board members, representatives from Wellbeing Advocacy Yackandandah, and other locals enjoyed morning tea, entertainment, and presentations about the history of bush nursing and the exciting future for local care. Children from Little Yacks Early Learning delighted residents by creating 100-year handprints and old-fashioned nurse’s hats.

The day reflected what this town has always been about: a community backing their own for 100 years and continuing to work together for a bright future. Here's to the next 100 years! 🎉
