Food waste is not just a food issue — it’s a climate issue, a social justice issue, and an economic issue. Fixing it is one of the most powerful things we can do for people and the planet.
Thank you Rolling Stone for highlighting such an important issue and more importantly that there are solutions to fix it. This is a great overview of the problem we face in Australia, with great wisdom and leadership from our friends Craig Reucassel and FarmersPick .
One third of all food produced globally is wasted — and in Australia, that adds up to over $36 billion every year. At the same time, 3.4 million households are struggling to access enough food. As Ronni says, “It’s going to take major systems change, it’s going to take collaboration, it’s going to take advocacy, it’s going to take everything.”
