Chantilly Park Learning and Wellness Centre

Chantilly Park Learning and Wellness Centre Through being with horses and nature we provide a safe place for people of all ages to explore mental health therapeutic support outside of a clinic room.

We provide a client centred approach by bringing a number of therapeutic elements together. Julie founded Chantilly Park Learning and Wellness Centre after training in Psychotherapy and discovering the therapeutic power of working with horses to address her own trauma and grief. Formerly a Clinical Research Coordinator at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute for 22 years, Julie decided to utilize her skills in building rapport and creating safe spaces in a new, unique setting. She is a Clinical Soul-Centred Psychotherapist (registered with PACFA & ASCP) and one of the first in Australia to earn the internationally recognized Certification of Equine Interaction Practitioner in Mental Health. Julie is supported by a herd of 10 horses, a team of chickens, a barn cat named Sooty, and Mo, a lap dog. The human team includes Courtney and Laura, who bring extensive experience in Family Services and other complementary training. The team have completed training with:
• Certification Board for Equine Interaction Professionals™
• Centre of Equine Experiential Learning
• Australian Equine Facilitated Learning
• Psychodynamic Equine Assisted Trauma Therapy

SLOW DOWN......take just ONE extra second to really connect with the people in your life.

Connection with others is based on the QUALITY of our presence with them.

Imagine a world where your loved ones felt that the answer to these questions was YES...

✡️ Do you see me?

✡️ Do you care that I’m here?

✡️ Am I enough for you?

✡️ Can I tell that I’m special to you by the way that you look at me?

Horses in their majestic beauty connect and accept in non-judgemental ways 💜

Being present doesn’t require meditation, deep breaths, or anything like that.

How will you be fully present for someone today?

Connection is not based on how much time we spend with someone or what we do with them, connection is always based on the quality of presence.

Horses are masters of this 💜🐴💜
They show up.
They choose to connect (or Not).
They choose to accept in a non-judgemental way.

Many kids (no matter what the age) yearn for connection BUT it’s something that isn’t always taught 💜

Being present doesn’t require meditation, deep breaths, or anything like that.

It can be as simple as a split second decision, “Ok, I’m going to be present now.”

HOW can YOU be PRESENT today?

🌻love what you do;do what you love🌻

How is your mindset today?

“Your beliefs become your thoughts,
your thoughts become your words,
your words become your actions,
your actions become your habits,
your habits become your values,
your values become your destiny.”
— Mahatma Gandhi

Break that statement down, read it slowly.

It’s a big statement to take on board. Mindsets can be a work in progress, I know mine is.

The clarity that comes after a mindset shift is a great feeling and with it shifts in the way we can be in the world.

What did you notice reading that statement slowly?

🌟love what you do;do what you love🌟

Such a thought provoking quote I saw recently 🤔🤔

Over the last few weeks I’ve watched spring bring colour and life back into the world around me.

The horses are feeling the warmth in the air which is a contrast to the cool nights.

I love this time of year & this quote reminds me to stop and see what’s around me 🌱🌞🌻

What are you noticing today?

BIG Feelings…worry, overwhelm, overthinking, anger…just some of what we cover in our “Mindful Strides” program ☘️🌻

Our 8 week group program supports mindful awareness and resilience-building for kids (7-12 years of age).

We will help your child that experiences anxiety, difficulty regulating their emotions, or struggle to manage stress in their lives to develop ways to get through those moments.

Some of the benefits we have witnessed kids achieve are:
🐴 ways to communicate feelings
🐴 ways to safely manage big feelings (like anger)
🐴 improve self-confidence

📆 Starts Saturday 18-October
✍️Message out page for details.
