I'm so excited to be welcoming Cairns and FNQ mamas back to my old space in Yorkeys K**b - for one week only.

I've returned from volunteering in Laos and I've just booked flights to return to Cairns to run a pop-up clinic from February 9th to 13th.

Although I'm now living and working in South East Queensland, my vision is to continue returning to FNQ every few months to offer massage, pelvic alignment, bodywork and nurturing for mothers here navigating pregnancy and postpartum.

Of course you can also work with me through my app, Confident Mother, and my new online courses and 1:1 virtual support packages.

For my regulars, you'll also notice a whole new booking system. (We are still ironing out the creases so please be patient with us if there's any hiccups along the way. 🌹)

I can't wait to see you soon Cairns.

It's that time again.

Nominations are now open for the 2026 Cairns International Women's Day Awards.

It was such an honour to receive the Women's Recognition Award last year, including a $2000 prize donated to my not-for-profit organisation, Gulagbi

I have just returned to Australia after volunteering in Laos and we have big visions for our work supporting mothers and babies in Far North Queensland this year too.

I'm excited to see who receives this recognition next.

Do you know a woman who makes the Cairns region stronger, kinder, and more vibrant?
🌸 Someone who leads with heart and creates meaningful change
🌸 A role model who inspires others through her actions
🌸 A volunteer or community champion whose dedication lifts those around her

You can nominate online at https://cairnsregionalcouncil.cmail20.com/t/j-l-ydjtlrly-hhjkkhjrtj-y/

Every week, I sit with mothers who carry heavy, unspoken grief from their births.

Sometimes it’s weeks after.
Sometimes months.
Sometimes years.

As they begin to speak, the tears come — and almost always, they apologise.
They feel embarrassed for being emotional.
They wonder if they’re “overreacting.”
They question whether they should still feel this way.

They shouldn’t.

Birth was never meant to be traumatic.
It was never meant to feel abusive, coercive, rushed, bullied, or silencing.

And yet, for so many women, it does.

What I see again and again is not weakness — it’s the body and nervous system finally feeling safe enough to release what was never held at the time.

This is the very reason I’ve created my new app.
To reach more mothers.
To help them understand their rights.
To rebuild confidence in their bodies and their voices.
And to support women before, during, and after birth — not just when things go “wrong.”

If this story resonates with you, please know:
Your feelings are valid.
You didn’t imagine it.

💬 Let’s start the conversation: comment, share your story, or reach out — you are not alone.
📌 Save this post if you know someone who might need to hear this today.

Your body doesn’t need more instructions.

Pregnancy and birth aren’t mechanical processes to be managed or controlled.
They’re -
relational,
hormonal,
emotional,
and physical experiences that respond to safety, trust, and connection.

This is why
touch,
breath,
and presence
can change outcomes —
even when nothing “medical” changes at all.

When the body feels supported, it often does what it’s designed to do.

This understanding comes from years of working with women in their bodies —
listening, observing, and respecting the wisdom already there.

Wishing a happy new year to all the mothers and families I have supported, and those I'm yet to meet.

I'm personally reflecting on all the challenges and lessons of 2025, and looking ahead to all the new opportunities and possibilities 2026 will bring.

My year is starting with a return to Laos, where I will again be volunteering with the Lao Birthwork Project to bring life-saving emergency birth skills training to clinics in remote villages, as well as delivering period products to the local girls and women.

We are still collecting donations, so if you would like to help us make this work possible, please remember all contributions make a big difference.
