There are so many health benefits to pasture raised meat chickens that are raised on chemical free pastures and are fed organic feed. The feed provides for all of the essential minerals for the meat chooks. The inclusion of biochar in the feed helps get rid of any toxins. So many benefits. Healthier chooks leads to a healthier you.

It is also important to think of the treatment of the birds themselves. Ours enjoy the fresh green grass that they are moved onto each day in the fresh air and sunshine. As I am sure you can imagine this is much better than the sheds of mass produced meat chickens.

Spring is almost here, which is very welcome after a tough Autumn and Winter. The excessive rains led to slower growth as we approached Winter. The warmer weather in the last week has sparked new growth of feed in our paddocks. We are still giving additional hay for a few more weeks yet.

The regular moving of our meat chickens really pays off. We move the large bottomless cages forward one space each morning. Good for them and fantastic fertiliser for the soil. Moving the protective nets without getting all tangled is quite the challenge! Our meat chickens love their organic feed from SOFT Agriculture Pty Ltd and the fresh chemical free pastures under their feet.
