🎬 Would you like to be in an animation? 🎬

Young Medicare Mental Health Centre is inviting past or current consumers to share their experience of engaging with our service.

You won’t be asked to talk about your mental health journey - just what it was like to access and connect with the Centre. 💚

Your story will be transformed into a short animated clip (no identifying details), helping others in our community feel more confident reaching out for support.

What’s involved?
✨ Up to one hour of your time
✨ Interview via phone, video call, or face-to-face
✨ Questions provided in advance
✨ Recorded for accuracy only - your voice and image will not be used

The Medicare Mental Health Check-In website has put together some simple, practical tips to help you decompress and restore after a tough day.

The focus is on what made the space feel safe, supportive, and approachable. You don’t need to share your mental health journey or what brought you to the service.

If you’ve accessed support at Young Medicare Mental Health Centre and would like to be involved, please complete the Expression of Interest form:

🌟 New Year Wellbeing 🌟

For some, New Years can feel even more challenging than Christmas. With fewer services open and the pressure to reflect on the past year, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or to dwell on where you “thought you’d be by now.”

If this time of year brings up difficult feelings, please know you’re not alone. It’s completely OK if your year hasn’t looked the way you hoped. It’s OK if you’re tired, uncertain, or simply doing your best to get through.

As we move into the New Year, be gentle with yourself:
✨ Take things at your own pace
✨ Reach out to someone you trust if you need connection
✨ Limit alcohol if it affects your mood or wellbeing
✨ Focus on small, grounding moments rather than big expectations

Our team at Young Medicare Mental Health Centre is here to support you. We reopen on Monday, 5 January, and you’re always welcome to walk in for free, confidential support - no referral needed.

If you need immediate help over the break, please reach out to:
📞 Accessline: 1800 800 944
📞 Lifeline: 13 11 14
📞 Emergency Services: 000

However you’re spending the New Year, please look after yourself. You matter, and support is always within reach. 💛
