Jump18 - Aruba Childhood Obesity Prevention Program JUMP18 aims to help parents and children to live healthier lives.

JUMP18 is a team of five young Aruban healthcare professionals and a pediatrician that developed a hands-on initiative to empower children and their parents to improve their health and wellbeing. The philosophy of JUMP18 is to motivate and enable Aruban children and their parents to live sustainable and healthy lifestyles needed to prevent the harmful effects of childhood obesity. The vision of JUMP18 is to eradicate the incidence of childhood obesity in Aruba and improve the overall wellbeing of Aruban children. Our mission is to ensure the healthy well-being of Aruban children by reducing the burden of disease that is associated with childhood obesity.

Recently BREDENOORD, WEB Aruba's partner in the 'Temporary 20MW Power Supply' project, made a donation to JUMP18 Foundation. On behalf of JUMP18, dr. Jamiu Busari received the donation of € 2,500,- with great gratitude from Zef Jansen, commercial manager of Bredenoord. This took place in the presence of employees of WEB's departments involved. WEB and Bredenoord are in the second consecutive year working together on the temporary power project.
Since Bredenoord considers the partnership very valuable, they found it important to give something back to the Aruban community and the choice fell on the JUMP18 Foundation. This foundation provides a variety of activities, education, coaching, and research for the treatment and prevention of childhood obesity in Aruba. In this way they want to achieve a healthy lifestyle for children and reduce the consequences associated with childhood obesity.

Last Friday was a special work out class: Dr.Busari was our work out coach for the day!

It was a lot of fun the participants really enjoyed running uo and down with him and doing some great exercises!

We have coach Gabriela for outdoor workouts on Wednesdays and coach Lyan at the kickboxing studio 🥊
