Jump18 - Aruba Childhood Obesity Prevention Program JUMP18 aims to help parents and children to live healthier lives.

JUMP18 is a team of five young Aruban healthcare professionals and a pediatrician that developed a hands-on initiative to empower children and their parents to improve their health and wellbeing. The philosophy of JUMP18 is to motivate and enable Aruban children and their parents to live sustainable and healthy lifestyles needed to prevent the harmful effects of childhood obesity. The vision of JUMP18 is to eradicate the incidence of childhood obesity in Aruba and improve the overall wellbeing of Aruban children. Our mission is to ensure the healthy well-being of Aruban children by reducing the burden of disease that is associated with childhood obesity.

Last Friday was a special work out class: Dr.Busari was our work out coach for the day!

It was a lot of fun the participants really enjoyed running uo and down with him and doing some great exercises!

This is what Jump18 is all about, finding JOY in movements that benefits the body.

Hii🥳 My name is Miozottis Nuñez M. I am a guidance counseler at the "Othopedagogisch centrum Aruba"

I work as a casemanager for Jump18. I am there to give guidance and support to the kids and their parents throughout their process at Jump18.

Fun fact; my name is a flower that grows only in a cold climate, but I don't like the cold.

On tuesday 16th of January we had our annual "Walk with the Doctor" event✨️💪🏽

For this event Dr.Busari, the project leader of Jump18, organizes a mini-walk together with all the Jump18 participants and their family members.

This was an absolute succes and the kids had fun while being active.🏃‍♀️‍➡️

At the end we all snacked on apples, mandarins and banana's and called it a day!

Thank you to all participants for making it a fun afternoon and a special thanks to Dr.Busari!
