📚The Journey of Specialization.

Part one.

Afew months ago, I met a mother who left a lasting impact on me. Her newborn was diagnosed with laryngomalacia, a condition that made eating and drinking a daily challenge.

With no specialized support available on Aruba, she made the heart-wrenching decision to leave her home and fly to Colombia. All in search of the care her baby needed.

That kind of courage humbles me.

As a solo parent and a speech and language therapist, I know how heavy love and responsibility can feel. I’ve been waking up at 3:00 AM to study, squeezing every hour I can, because I know how much it matters.

And today, I’m proud to say:
✨ I’ve completed Part 1 of my specialization in pediatric feeding and swallowing. ✨

This isn’t just a certificate.
It’s a promise to families, to the Aruban community that expert care can be made more accessible.

This journey is personal.
And it’s only just begun..........

🧠 What is Fronting?

Fronting is when a child replaces a sound made in the back of the mouth (like /k/) with a sound made in the front (like /t/).

👉 So instead of saying "car," they might say "tar."

It’s super common in young children, but if it sticks around too long, it can make their speech hard to understand.

🎯 The good news? With articulation therapy, .oduber helps 4 year old kids go from "tat" to "cat". Just like that! 😻
