Stichting STER presented “5 Elements”, a oreventative and curative selfcare health program for recovery, at the mental healthcare journaling workshop organized today at Boulevard Events by Paper Sisters and FADA.

The 5 Elements is a system of maintaining balance and harmony in our vital organs: heart, lungs, liver, stomach and kidneys. Based on Traditional Chinese Medicine, this preventative and curative healthcare system is based on breathing, movements and visualization techniques. 5 Elements practice is approved by the AAC (American Addiction Centers) as it has been scientifically proven to improve cognitive thinking and impulse control.

5 Elements practice is of great value to those with substance use disorders:

Become a sponsor: adopt a senior

We believe that prevention is better than cure. Therefor we offer weekly classes to seniors in our community:
🔆 Tuesdays 10 AM at the YMCA in Dakota
🔆 Thursdays at 9 AM at the YMCA in San Nicolaas

You can become a sponsor of our preventative healthcare program “Qi Gong for Seniors” or “Tai Chi For Health”. Participation fee in these programs is kept extremely low so that all seniors can participate, no matter how much their budget is. However still some people can simply not afford to pay 12.50 AWG per month. For these participants we have special arrangements and we ask your participation by becoming a sponsor. For companies: we can print your logo on our tshirts and mention you as our patron.

Play a song - together we are strong🎶

This morning stichting STER visited Leerorkest Aruba at their new location in San Nicolaas to bring them chairs and some other items so that they can continue to offer a welcoming and comfortable environment where children in San Nicolas can explore their passion for music and grow as young musicians. The new equipment will help create a better atmosphere for learning and creativity, benefiting both the children as well as the community.

The Leerorkest After School Orchestra program in San Nicolas provides free music education to local children, offering them the opportunity to develop their skills in a safe and inspiring environment. If you feel inclined to sponsor their programs contact their coordinator at +297 567 8937.

Stichting STER promotes preventative healthcare training and therapy on Aruba. We integrate services in the hospital, at senior citizens homes and at local schools and we recruit volunteers to spread positive selfcare techniques.

One of our projects is Reiki Aruba. Within this project we teach people selfcare techniques by using the healing power of their hands (always as a complement to traditional medicine delivered by doctors)

Op vrijdag 15 Maart neemt de stichting STER een groep senioren uit San Nicolaas en Oranjestad mee op een bustoer voor een bezoek aan het Museo Archeologico. Na de rondleiding doen de deelnemers mee aan een creatieve workshop onder het genot van een hapje en een drankje. We willen het Oranjefonds en CEDE ARUBA bedanken voor het creëren van de nationale vrijwilligersactie ARUBA DOET op 15 en 16 Maart. En we bedanken bij voorbaat alle vrijwilligers die ons meehelpen er weer een onvergetelijke dag van te maken.
