On Friday May 15th 2026 our NGO foundation STER is again a proud participant of the national volunteer action of ARUBA DOET. During this event throughout the entire kingdom of the Netherlands volunteers are recruited for clubs, foundations and organizations.

Our target group is adults aged 70+. They currently come together in our preventive health and holistic self-care wellness classes at the YMCA in San Nicolas and Dakota in our program Qi Gong for Seniors. We aim to bring the groups closer through shared meaningful activities. Stichting STER would like to treat the participants of the group to a special trip to nature during Aruba Doet.

On Fridays we offer a Healing Sounds Drum Circle for guests at the Hilton hotel on Palm Beach.

In this 90-minute Healing Sounds and Drum Circle guests will be invited to tap into the internal rhythms of their heartbeat and breath. This Circle will be held around sunset on the beach opposite or inside the garden of Eforea Spa and is suitable for all reasonable ages. Children are welcome when accompanied by an adult. Participants will learn how to compose rhythms with their voice and play a variety of instruments together, such as:
• Handpan
• Djembe Drum
• Frame Drum
• Percussion instruments
• Shakers

Foundation STER aims to be financially independent.

To sponsor our community events we organize classes and ceremonies at the hotels and use part of these proceeds to fund our community activities. We are grateful for the support of hotels on Aruba, such as Bucuti, Hyatt, Divi Phoenix, Holiday Inn and La Cabana who use our services to offer wellness activities to their guests, such as Reiki, Qi Gong, Tai Chi, Meditations, Healing Sounds, Aquarobics and Limbo shows.

The Intention Ceremony

For millennia, humanity has honored the Elements of nature through sacred rituals. When we turn these rituals into ceremonies, there is a celebration of festive freedom and a renewed connection with the forces of nature. In a fire ceremony we use the element of fire to release, renew and heal. We offer intention items (such as leaves, flowers or personal notes) to the fire to fuel and manifest our intention. In the fire ceremony the smoke will be picked up by the winds of the 4 Directions.

Stichting STER presented “5 Elements”, a oreventative and curative selfcare health program for recovery, at the mental healthcare journaling workshop organized today at Boulevard Events by Paper Sisters and FADA.

The 5 Elements is a system of maintaining balance and harmony in our vital organs: heart, lungs, liver, stomach and kidneys. Based on Traditional Chinese Medicine, this preventative and curative healthcare system is based on breathing, movements and visualization techniques. 5 Elements practice is approved by the AAC (American Addiction Centers) as it has been scientifically proven to improve cognitive thinking and impulse control.

5 Elements practice is of great value to those with substance use disorders:

Become a sponsor: adopt a senior

We believe that prevention is better than cure. Therefor we offer weekly classes to seniors in our community:
🔆 Tuesdays 10 AM at the YMCA in Dakota
🔆 Thursdays at 9 AM at the YMCA in San Nicolaas

You can become a sponsor of our preventative healthcare program “Qi Gong for Seniors” or “Tai Chi For Health”. Participation fee in these programs is kept extremely low so that all seniors can participate, no matter how much their budget is. However still some people can simply not afford to pay 12.50 AWG per month. For these participants we have special arrangements and we ask your participation by becoming a sponsor. For companies: we can print your logo on our tshirts and mention you as our patron.
