The Caspian Compassion Project (CCP) is a public union operating as a not-for-profit registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan since December 1999. CCP is a local humanitarian organization with a mandate to provide health services to poor and conflict-impacted people in both urban and rural communities of Azerbaijan. Mission

CCP is the recognized leader in Azerbaijan for the provision of compassionate, high-quality eye care to those least able to afford it. While maintaining a primary emphasis on provision of eye care and training ophthalmologists, CCP partners with others with shared values to be a catalyst for new strategic and sustainable health initiatives. History
1996: An international team of doctors arrived in Azerbaijan, working for 2 weeks on a ship (580 people examined; 89 received ophthalmic surgical treatment)
1996-99: semi-annual, a primarily American surgical team visited Azerbaijan and worked jointly with local doctors providing ophthalmic service to the poor. December 1999: “Caspian Compassion Project” was established and formally registered with the Ministry of Justice in Azerbaijan.
2001: NGO Medical Ministry International (MMI) obtained the original grant for the land purchase, clinic construction and equipment. CCP bought 3.18 hectares in Masazir settlement, Absheron district in order to construct a new facility of its own.
2003: Foundation for new clinic in Masazir was laid. Ecuadorian architect Abner Hernandes, who donated his time and efforts, designed the new clinic building. The total area of the two-storey building is 1670 sq.m.
2004-2007: Ongoing construction of new clinic while CCP continued to work in a rented facility
September 2007: CCP moved to the new clinic in Masazir settlement
September 2008: The first eye surgeries were conducted in the new facility in Masazir
2008: The International Rotary Club donated new dental equipment to CCP to begin providing dental services for children
2008-2010: Joint projects of the eyes in cooperation with local and international non-governmental organizations, including BP, UNHCR, International Medical Corps, World Hope, ADRA, International Weltanschauung, Ufug, Chevron and ect.
2011-2014: Successful cooperation with Azercell (mobile clinic), Access Bank (childrens operations in Nakhichevan), Cross Caspian (medical assistance to refugees from Nagorno-Karabakh), Save the Children (medical assistance to displaced people in Afghanistan), HoMs (eye surgery for children from incomplete families).
2015: The organization celebrated its 15th anniversary of its existence in Azerbaijan. Since the beginning of our activity, the SSR has conducted more than 80,000 consultations and carried out over 10,000 successful procedures for restoring full or partial vision to the poor and needy.
2016: Conducting a joint project of the CCP / MMI for the poor in Ukraine in Kiev based on the medical center “Novy Zir”. 50 successful operations were carried out.
2017: With the assistance of CCP in Ukraine, the sister company UCP (Ukraine Compassion Project) has opened.
