"Prevention is better than cure." Eat well.
These food-like substances may create problems in many ways — they may be carcinogenic, affect brain chemistry and behavior, cause weight gain, or create allergies, leaky gut, and more.
For the packaged items you do end up buying, be sure to read each and every label. Basically, if a product contains an ingredient that you don’t have in your cupboard and wouldn’t use in home cooking, then don’t buy it.
You may think, “oh, it’s just small amounts, it couldn’t hurt.” If only that were true.
We consume an average of 3 to 5 pounds of a variety of 3,000 food additives every year! When considering purchasing packaged food, ask yourself: Are there fewer than five ingredients? If it’s an animal product, was it raised or produced as close to its wild and natural state as possible? If you answer any of these questions with a “No,” choose something else.
