On Monday September 8, 2025, JOAN ELEANOR BISHOP née Smith of Rendezvous Retreat, Christ Church, formerly of Holetown, St. James, St. Croix, US Virgin Islands; Long Island, New York, USA and The UK died peacefully at age 89.

Wife of the late Carl Bishop; Daughter of the late Aubrey and Eleanor Smith; Sister of Orwin Yvonne Inniss, the late Dean Ulric Smith (St. Vincent), the late Keith, Stephen and Roy Smith; Aunt of many in Canada, the USA and St. Vincent. Sister-in-law of Wilma, Dawn, Blossom, and the late Lucille Smith and the late Rupert Inniss; Cousin of Ricky Deran Depeiza; Friend of Nicolas Drayton, Marcusgavy Maturine, the King and Bellot families, Mrs. Velda Messinger and many others in Barbados and overseas.

The Funeral of the late Joan Eleanor Bishop née Smith leaves Paramount Funeral Home, Upper Hindsbury Road, St. Michael at 12:45 pm, on Thursday September 25, 2025 for St. James Parish Church Holetown, St. James, where relatives and friends are asked to meet at 2:30 pm for the Service of Praise and Thanksgiving to celebrate her life. The cortege will then proceed to the St. James Cemetery for the Interment. The Organist and members of the Church Choir are kindly asked to attend.

In lieu of flowers a donation may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Barbados.

Son of the late Ione Garrett and Clarence Jones.

Father of Roslyn, Julia, Lloyd (Jnr) and Stephanie.

Brother of Patricia, Vincent, Diana, Auddie and the late Hallam and Rupert Garrett. Nephew of the late Frank Bushell. Grandfather of Kiesha, Malachi, Mia, Nevaeh, A'niyah and Zennetha.
