Emotions aren't the problem --- feeling alone in them is. Here's how to gently regulate emotions without suppressing them.
1) Name it. Say: "I feel ___." Naming the emotion helps you process it.
2) Accept it. Remind yourself: "It's okay to feel this.' Emotions aren't wrong -- they're messengers.
3) Feel It Mindfully. Pause. Breathe. Notice where it lives in your body. Let it rise and fall.
4) Reframe Gently. Ask: "What else might be true?" Or "What would I tell a friend feeling this?"
5) Express It Safely. Journal, move, cry, talk, create. Let it flow --- don't bottle it.
6) Transform It. Use what the emotion taught you to guide your next step.
Regulation is not suppression. It's choosing how to respond with care.
