The Rainbow Psychological & Educational Centre is a private practice that employs techniques that are tailored to meet the specific academic, socio-emotional, intellectual, and developmental needs of a child. If your child is experiencing some kind of dissonance in their learning and functioning which causes a disruption in the learning of something new thus causing undue stress as they attempt to accommodate a new skill, The Rainbow Psychological & Educational Centre is the place for you. The Remediation Programs offered focus on learning differences and social challenges. The interventions used are individualized and unique to the specific learner, thus strengthening his or her ability to learn by using a variety of teaching materials and engaging the student in academic activities. I understand that addressing and accepting a learning difficulty is a challenging situation for both parents and students. You can be assured that my primary goal is to help everyone succeed and thrive in a comfortable and supportive environment. The Rainbow Psychological & Educational Centre provides three teaching services:
1. The Tutoring Program

I provide highly specialized, explicit, and individualized instruction for children ages 3 to 11 and beyond. I use a diagnostic approach that identifies individual academic weaknesses, allowing us to target them in an effective and intensive manner. The Remediation Programs are effective in helping students succeed with the following learning issues:
1. Autism
2. Asperger’s Syndrome
3. Down Syndrome
4. Dyslexia
5. ADD/ADHD

The Tutoring Programs are effective in helping students succeed in the following subject areas:
1. English
2. Mathematics
3. Reading

All programs are conducted by myself, Rhea N. Dalrymple, Registered Educational Psychologist, who is qualified in Educational Psychology, Psychology, Special Education, Reading, as well as Child Care & Nursery Management. I collaboratively work with professionals such as Speech Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and ABA Therapists to assist students in achieving their relevant goals, while working with teachers to foster the development of the child. Please, do not hesitate to contact The Rainbow Psychological & Educational Centre at the information provided for an extensive description of the services offered!

Believing in yourself starts when a child learns that their brain works differently, not wrongly. It means helping them trust their abilities, even when learning feels hard. Confidence grows when effort is noticed, progress is honoured, and mistakes are treated as part of learning, not failure.

Your child may get full marks in a spelling test, but still struggle to spell those same words in real writing.
That’s because memorizing lists taps short-term memory, while real spelling depends on patterns, meaning, and practice in context.

If your child or student “forgets” their words after the test, it’s not carelessness; it’s a sign they need deeper, pattern-based instruction.

✨ Focus on understanding, not just recall.
Spelling isn’t about perfect scores! It’s about confident, functional writing.

I don’t really call what I do therapy; it doesn’t look like therapy. Working with children from age 3 through adolescence looks different every day. What I love most about being an Educational Psychologist is that I get to help children without them even realizing it. Through play, a story, or a simple conversation, I might have just helped them spell a word… or solve a worry!
