Faith plays a powerful role in the fertility journey for so many of our patients, and this was especially true for one of our incredible mums, recently featured in the Jamaica Gleaner.

After years of surgeries and infertility setbacks, she held on to hope and faith and welcomed her beautiful baby boy at age 40.

During a routine visit, when the doctor asked Claudene Givans if she was pregnant, she sadly said no. Her dream of becoming a mother had been met with fibroids, three myomectomies, infertility, miscarriage, and a failed round of in vitro fertilisation. But all hope wasn’t lost. A car accident sparked renewed purpose and, through faith, this devout Christian finally welcomed her ‘sonshine’ in 2021 at 40 years old.

While visiting the States, our Coordinator Dionne had the sweetest reunion with one of our incredible patients imperfectivf and her daughter!

This family’s fertility journey led to more than a happy outcome. It also inspired a heartfelt book: One More Shot. Full of honesty, humor and hope, it’s now in our waiting rooms and continues to bring comfort to others navigating a similar path.

Such a special moment to connect beyond Barbados and be reminded of the strength and resilience behind every page.
