Lahore(23-05-2015): VETS CARE CLUB, UVAS observed World Veterinary Day at UVAS LAHORE in collaboration with Shalimar Medical and Dental Collage Lahore and King Edward Medical University Lahore here on Thursday with the theme “Vector Born Diseases with a Zoonotic Potential”. A walk and Seminar was arranged to mark the day and create awareness about the welfare of animals in the community.
Acting Vice-Chancellor, Dean Faculty of Life sciences Business Management Prof Dr Nasim Ahmad led the walk while Prof Dr Sarwar Khan, Prof Dr Habib-ur Rehman, Prof Dr Kamran Ashraf, Prof Dr Asim Aslam, Dr Muhammad Oneeb and President Vets Care Club Muneeb Zia, a large number of students and faculty members were participated.
Later a seminar held, in which many lecture delivered on Congo Fever, Bovine Trypanosomiasis, Bovine Ephemeral Fever, etc. Speaking on the occasion, Dr Nasim Ahmad spoke about the importance of animal welfare and urged the faculty members and students to work for this noble cause. He also lauded the Volunteers effort of Vets Care Club for the uplift of veterinary profession through their various healthy indoor and outdoor activities for the veterinary studies.
At the end, Best Veterinary Teachers awards were distributed among four teachers by current four batch students of DVM elected them through poling and in which Dr Faseeh-ur Rehman, Dr Ghulam Mustafa, Dr Muhammad Ejaz and Dr Waseem Yaqoob were winners.
